Jeopardy! October 14, 2024 game play demonstrated yet another fierce competition. The returning winner Eamonn Campbell had a leading streak in this game play.

After defeating the 5-time champion, Mark Fitzpatrick, Eamonn had become a new fan favorite. The other two new contestants were Jack Swansey and Caryn Radick.

For the first round, Jach Swansey held the lead by gaining $4000, Eamonn stood second with $3,800, and Caryn was the last with $2,600.

The categories for the first round were:

"Begins & Ends With “E” – October in History-Multiples of 3 – Let’s Go for a Spin – U.S. Geological Survey Says… – Family Feud."

For the Double Jeopardy! Round, the three players had these categories:

"Asian Geography – The Characters They Birthed – Choose a Name – Signs & Signals – Wedding Songs – Alliteration."

Eamonn and Jack risked their chances by guessing Dailt Doubles. Caryn on the other hand played conservative. Eamonn and Jacj were going head-to-head in the second round and finished very close. At the end of the second round, the final scores of all the three payers were:

  • Eamonn: $14,800
  • Jack: $14,600

Now, for the Final Jeopardy!, the category was 'Corporate Mascot', and the cue reads:

Who won the Jeopardy! October 14, 2024 game play?

In Jeopardy! October 14 episode, Eamonn Campbell became the second-time winner by leading his way into the final round and risking high on the wager. Till the last round, Eamonn and Jack were just $200 apart, and Eamonn was leading. With the last and final clue of Corporate Mascot, Jack lost his chances of winning the game, as he came up with the wrong answer.

However, both Eamonn and Caryn were able to come up with the right answers and added substantial money to their accounts. Caryn, who is an archivist by profession, showed great knowledge of history and strategic thinking. She even guessed the right answer for the final clue, but because of the slow start, she could not give a tough competition to Eamonn and Jack.

Jack Swansey, who is a writer from Durham, North Carolina, was running parallel to Eamonn and had a leading first round. However, he bet all his earnings from the second round, leaving only $1, which posted him hugely. Jack guessed the wrong answer in the final round and lost $14,599. Eamonn played the last wager strategically and unlike his previous bet, took a risk to bet big.

At the end of the episode, the three players had:

  • Caryn: $7,600
  • Jack: $1
  • Eamonn: $29,500

The right answer to the 'corporate Mascot' clue was:

"What is Grimace?"

As per the clue, the answer hinted towards a mascot about which a tweet was made in 2014, and the tweet referred to the mascot as a milkshake or a taste bud.

On October 30, 2014, McDonald's Corporation's Twitter handle @McDonaldsCorp, replied by tagging @margo_padila:

"@margo_padillaGreat question! #Grimace lore says he is the embodiment of a milkshake or a taste bud. What do you think? #AskAnArchivist"

The clue was referencing this tweet, and Eamonn and Caryn knew the right answer. Eamonn has now won a total amount of $43,200 with his two-day winning streak.
