- Maria: $10,800
- Laura: $10,400
- Joe: $9,000
Final Jeopardy Round: As the stakes got higher and fans were locked in with the suspense, it was revealed that the final category was Movies & The Law. This meant the contestants would have to navigate a ship sailing between entertainment and legalities.
Laura was presented with the question,
"What is the RICO Act?"
She gave the correct answer which ultimately led to her win. She was careful yet confident with her strategy. We saw Maria and Joe fall behind allowing Laura Faddah to take $17,000 home because of her two-day total.
About the three contestants on Jeopardy!
Laura Faddah: Laura hails from Memphis, Tennessee. She works as a manager. Previously, before the December 20 episode, she had a total of $11,200. This made her a returning champion who would go against other seasoned players.
Even though she fumbled over a sports final clue in the December 19 episode, Laura showed her resilience and came back to take that crown. We saw the other two contestants go for a mid-size wager during the final round, but Laura went all in. She simply said,
"Go big or go home."
Maria Lauro: Maria is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she works as a contract specialist. She led the quiz in the early rounds with her knowledge. Although, she faltered during the final rounds against Laura.
While talking on a Reddit thread where fans were expressing their reaction over the December 20 episode, Lauro wrote,
"My biggest regret is not hitting the Mr & Mrs. Lit DJ, I’d have bet big because my degree is in English and I’ve taken graduate courses on the Bloomsbury group. She will always be ‘Mrs. F-ing Dalloway’ to me from now on. I would have known the other one, but wouldn’t have bet as big. My husband knew the FJ answer.”
This is what fans replied to her statement.
This statement was heartbreaking as she reported earlier that her husband passed away when the show was being taped and aired.
Joe Asaminew: Joe lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada where he works as an ER physician. He brought his medical knowledge to the games. His final score was altered because of a few wrong answers even though he had a good start at the beginning. We saw how resilient he was and gave a tough battle to the other contestants.
