The Great American Baking Show is set to premiere on The Roku Channel on April 11, 2025. This series is an adaption of The Great British Bake Off as hosts chef Prue Leith and chef Paul join the new season.

On April 10, 2025, Michelin-starred chef Prue Leith appeared on PIX11 News, where she revealed what fans can expect from the upcoming season. As viewers already know, the applications for the next season are open, with the deadline being April 18, 2025. She stated that the purpose of the lengthy online form was to select contestants based on their talent and passion. She stated that with the large population in America, selecting only ten contestants is a difficult task.

The Great American Baking Show star encouraged amateur bakers to apply, mentioning that what matters is how good they are at baking to survive in this competition. She said:

"They just go online and they fill an enormous, rather complicated application form which sorts out the ones who are just thinking it would be fun to be there on the telly and the people who really know how to bake. You know, there are 300 million people in America so we have to find the best ten of them. We only want ten people. It's a long process, but it's all about how good you are at baking."

During the conversation with the show hosts, Chef Prue shared that the upcoming season of The Great American Baking Show will include the best bakers they ever had. Hinting at the premiere episode that is set to air exclusively on The Roku Channel on April 11, 2025, Prue shared that she met talented chefs on the show.

When the hosts compared The Great American Baking Show to The Great British Bake Off, they were asked if there was a difference between American and British bakers. Prue said that they were equally skillful and the only difference she noticed was that American bakers liked sweeter dishes in taste. She stated:

"No I think they are both skillful as each other, and I think this year's bakers, American bakers is the best we have ever had. They are really, really fantastic. And like professionals, honestly, they are so skillful but what I think generally, American taste buds like are things sweeter than we do."

Towards the end of the interview, Prue also spoke about the new generation opting for healthier food while enjoying the cooking process. She shared:

"The whole thing about cooking and baking is such an enjoyment. I have never met a child, I have taught thousands of children to cook, and I've never met one who hasn't enjoyed the process. So it's so easy to get them to like real food but it's a real problem now because we have lost two or three generation of people who can't cook."
