"It's been absolutely incredible": Love is Blind star Joey proposes to Monica during episode 2

Netflix's social experiment, Love is Blind Season 8, aired its second episode on February 14, 2025. While most of the cast members were still exploring their potential connections via blind dates, one of the male cast members, Joey, found his connection.

34-year-old physical associate got on one knee in the pods and proposed to Monica. While they were in separate pods, unable to see each other, Joey asked Monica:

"It's been absolutely incredible getting to know every part of you. I've had, like, an incredible time falling in love with who you are as a person, your laugh, your voice, and I would love to take the next step with you. (Gets on one knee) Would you get engaged with me?"

Love is Blind Season 8 Episode 2: Joey expresses his feelings towards Monica

The second episode of Love is Blind Season 8 featured another date between Joey and Monica. She initiated the conversation by asking Joey about his favorite animal. He mentioned penguins.

"I've always wanted to go on a cruise to, like, Antarctica or something or Alaska. They have cruises that you can actually go penguin watching. I think that would be amazing, so..." said Joey.

Love is Blind star Monica mentioned their babies are "so fluffy." They talked about how penguins walk and swim and more. Further, during their conversation, the male participant stated:

"One of my favorite things about penguins is they're one of the, like, only monogamous animals. And they give a rock to their partner."

While Joey shared this fact, Monica already knew about it. He referred to it as one of the "coolest" things. He then recalled their first date and what Monica mentioned. She couldn't remember the date. Hence, Joey recalled and told her that she mentioned taking "a nap."

He remembered that when he asked what made her feel "comfortable," she answered that she needed to "take a nap." Both of them burst into laughter after recalling their first date.

Joey then mentioned how he had an "absolutely incredible" experience when he got to know "every part " of her and proposed to her. While he got on one knee, Monica was also on the carpet, in her pod. Answering his question about getting engaged, she replied:

"Oh! Yes! Absolutely. Oh my God!"

She expressed her happiness as she couldn't stop screaming and told Joey she was "excited" to see him for the first time.

Love is Blind's second episode initiated the big reveal, where they would see each other and engage in person.

"This whole experience reminds me of playing the lottery. When you're waiting to hear the numbers, you daydream. It's like, "What would I do? Like, if I would move, like, what house would I buy? What would my life look like? And you let yourself daydream. And it's like, "Of course."

Referring to Joey, Monica mentioned that she "won" the lottery. However, the second episode ended before the couple's big reveal could be played. The third episode started with the couple's reveal and first face-to-face meeting.
