Love is Blind couple Sara Carton and Ben Mezzenga have gone through a rough patch in their relationship earlier on the show. As they returned from their honeymoon in Honduras and shifted into an apartment complex, and their phones were handed back, Sara came across a girl on TikTok talking about a Love is Blind cast member who treated girls badly. In the comments section, Ben was tagged by a lot of people, which made her question him.
Ben and Sara met on Season 8 and were engaged after connecting in the pods. Sara received the infamous video last year, when the show was filming.
Sara revealed in an interview with US Weekly that she was at a brewery at the time the girls' group got a link to the specific TikTok. She stepped outside to check the comments on the video, and she noticed a lot of people were,
"tagging Ben specifically."
Sara says she was confused at the moment and was trying to make sense of it all. She didn't seem to understand how all these people knew Ben and had gone through similar experiences with him, as the girl in the TikTok video.
As she went back to the apartment and filming began, Sara decided to confront Ben over the video, and he confirmed that he knew the girl. Recalling what happened that night, the Love is Blind star said:
"We watched [the second TikTok] for the first time [in front of the cameras] and that is when she said that he blocked her… That told me it is about him."

The entire deal with the TikTok girl and how she claimed Ben had treated her, raised concern for Sara. She said:
"She didn’t say anything specific other than him treating girls s—-y — and that can be taken in so many ways. I was like, ‘OK, what extent are we talking here? Should I be concerned for my safety?’ I didn’t feel unsafe by any means, but [I] don’t want to take this lightly if it’s something serious. But I also, like, I don’t want to take this super seriously if he was just a d-bag or something.”
Even though she had many questions, Sara said that she did not want to "gauge" Ben because she had known him for just a month, and did not have enough information about his past.
As for Ben, he gave two contradictory answers about the situation. This further confused Sara, who said she tried talking to Ben off-camera. Her reason was that she did not want to drag the issue more than it needed to be, but she also needed to get answers because Ben was her potential life partner.
Thus, she tried protecting Ben but at the same time talked with him about the issues personally and sorted things out.
Deciding to move forward with the relationship on the show even though Ben did not give her any solid answers, Sara said she always has her words at the back of her mind.
However, this did not stop her from loving him because the incident in question happened almost four years ago. In her words:
"people can change and evolve."
As for their time on Love is Blind, the show has left us on a cliffhanger even as Sara and Ben decide the fate of their relationship.
Love is Blind is currently streaming Season 8 on Netflix. A new episode is scheduled to drop on March 7, 2025.
