Outer Banks on Netflix follows a teenager who enlists his three best friends to get to a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance. With its focus on the Cameron family, the show not only focuses on how they try to get to the treasure but also delves into the relationships that members of the family share between them.
One of the recurring characters in Outer Banks is Louisa "Wheezie" Cameron. She is Ward Cameron’s youngest daughter and the youngest sibling of Sarah and Rafe. However, Rose is not their biological mother. Wheezie is Rose's stepdaughter, along with Sarah and Rafe, who are also her stepchildren.
Outer Banks never made it clear who the biological mother of Wheezie, Sarah, and Rafe was. There are various kinds of hints about her character, and it is not even clear whether the mother is dead or alive.
The Cameron children do not share a very good relationship with Rose, their stepmother. However, with Wheezie’s prolonged absence in the new season of Outer Banks, it seems that Rose has taken her away after Ward’s death.
Let us explore Wheezie’s character and relationship with Rose in detail.

Who is Wheezie and what happens to her in Outer Banks?
The youngest of the Cameron children, Wheezie, is mostly kept in the dark about things and is often manipulated and used by her family members. However, despite realizing that Sarah is favored the most by their father, Ward, she does not hold it against her, unlike Rafe.
Despite their troubled family dynamics, Wheezie shares a loving bond with her sister, Sarah, and tries to help her in whatever way possible. There is a sense of trust between these two, and Wheezie covers for Sarah when the latter sneaks out of the house.
Wheezie also tries to help Rafe with some money when Ward kicks him out of the house. Since she is not taken seriously, she often eavesdrops on conversations between her family members, which gives her access to certain information.
Since Wheezie has not appeared in Outer Banks season 4, it seems that Rose took her and fled town because she believes that Sarah has murdered Ward. This information is revealed in a phone call between Sarah and Rose.
Sarah’s side of the call makes it clear that Rose believes she murdered Ward, and she does not want the former to be in any kind of contact with Wheezie. Earlier in the season, Rafe also shared this assumption regarding her sister killing their father. However, Wheezie’s thoughts on the whole subject are not clear.

Will Wheezie ever return to Outer Banks?
Even though Rafe had gotten along well with Wheezie, his motive was always getting close to Ward. Therefore, with Ward dead, it is only natural that he would not care about keeping Wheezie or Rose around, given his relationship with his stepmother is quite strained.
However, since there has been a surprise character development in Rafe and he is trying to get the Cameron family together, the possibility of Wheezie returning is not disregardable. Sarah already loves her sister and would definitely like her to be around.
Therefore, if Rafe is indeed serious about bringing the Cameron family back together, Wheezie’s return is bound to happen at some point in Outer Banks.
Outer Banks can be streamed on Netflix.
