The anticipated K-drama sequel Weak Hero Class 2 will hit Netflix on April 25, 2025. It will bring back Park Ji-hoon’s Yeon Si-eun to a new school among new threats and friends. Based on Kim Jin-seok and Seopass’s webtoon, the new series will finally follow the webtoon’s story, as the first season was the prequel.

At the end of Weak Hero Class 1, it was shown that Ji-hoon’s Si-eun joined a different school, Eunsang High, after his epic revenge against the bullies, because of whom Choi Hyun-wook’s Ahn Su-ho ended up in a coma. The end credits showed how, again in the new school, he was treated as someone weak and bullied. This might be the only connection between the two series: Si-eun is perceived to be weak but is actually strong.

In the trailer of Weak Hero Class 2, other than Park Ji-hoon, none of the characters from Weak Hero Class 1 are shown, depicting that the new season will follow an entirely different story.

More on this in our story.

Weak Hero Class 2 will have a different story than Weak Hero Class 1

Weak Hero Class 1 depicts Yeon Si-hun’s story and his unexpected friendships that he forms while also dealing with bullies in and outside the school. Due to bullies, Si-hun becomes friends with Ahn Su-ho and Oh Beom-seok. However, the friendship doesn’t last for a long time, as we see in the finale episode how Beom-seok becomes the major cause for Ahn-suho’s tragic fate.

At the end of Weak Hero Class 1, Su-ho goes into a coma after the attack by Beom-seok and the bullie. Si-eun then takes brutal revenge on the people who caused the grievous injury to Su-ho. His rage mixed with his grief turned out to be terrifying for all the bullies except Beom-seok, whom he couldn’t harm.

In the end, Si-eun leaves his school and joins Eunsang High School, where he is again picked on by the bullies due to his quiet and disinterested demeanor. In the end credits, he tells the bully how predictable they are and picks up his ultimate weapon — a pen — with a cold, hard glare.

Weak Hero Class 2 will pick up from this point, and builds its story. We will see Si-eun making new friends and getting into brutal fights with the bullies inside and outside his new school. As per the trailer, none of the characters from the first season appear, but Si-eun is still seen narrating his story to Su-ho, who we last saw in a coma. He is yet to recover.

Therefore, the new season will carry forward Si-eun’s story in a new direction, with new threats from bullies and new friendships as well.

Although the story of Weak Hero Class 2 will be different from Weak Hero Class 1, the story is still about Park Ji-hun’s Yeon Si-eun, who is perceived as a weak individual at the beginning of the story but later turns out to be a highly intelligent guy who can protect himself with his quick analytical thinking.

Weak Hero Class 1 is based on a flashback scene from the webtoon, Weak Hero. On the other hand, Weak Hero Class 2 will follow the story of the webtoon and Si-eun’s time in Eunsang High. The popular drama is known for its high-octane action sequences and the gripping tale of Si-eun’s fight with the bullies, making it a highly anticipated drama of 2025.
