With its six seasons, fans of the series connected with it on an emotional level, too. However, after the sixth season aired in 2023, Fox officially canceled it.

Netflix has previously revived canceled series like Arrested Development. Considering the success of The Resident on Netflix, fans are hopeful that their favorite medical drama might afterall see a renewal and return for the final season to provide them closure. But as of now, nothing is confirmed.
Manish Dayal plays Dr. Devon Pravesh in The Resident. In an interview with TVInsider, he hinted at a possible comeback. Dayal mentioned how the cast still remains in touch and hopes that they get to be in the set together again. He added that if Netflix revives the series for another season, they will all happily return.
However, as of now, there’s nothing official from Netflix or the show's creators about The Resident Season 7. It is unclear if Netflix will show an interest to invest in the revival of the series.
