It has been reported that The Boys Season 5 will be the final season of the satirical superhero show.
Season 4 debuted on June 13, 2024, and was an instant hit. Before the premiere, showrunner Eric Kripke announced on X that Season 5 of The Boys would be the final chapter in the series.
He wrote:
#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!
Based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comicbooks of the same name, the show revolves around a group of vigilantes who take on superheroes called the ‘Supes,’ who abuse their superpowers with the help of a company named Vought International that keeps the public oblivious of their antihero activities.

Is The Boys Season 5 the final chapter?
As previously mentioned, The Boys Season 5 will be its final season. While talking to Variety, showrunner Eric Kripke spoke of how he got Amazon’s approval on making Season 5 the final chapter of the series, prior to Season 4’s premiere. He said:
"Real approval from up and down Amazon probably came about a year ago. I give them all the credit in the world and I’m so grateful for them to let me end this story on my terms. That’s obviously really rare. I think for about a year, they were sort of very, very lovingly saying, 'Well, maybe you’ll want to do more? Are you sure?' But when they saw that I was pretty dead set on Season 5, they went along with it. And and I really am grateful."
The show is currently filming its fifth and final season. In a recent interview with Forbes, Kripke revealed that the scripts of the upcoming season have not been finalised and adjustments are beinf made while filming. He said:
"I mean, they're not all written, by the way. They're about half-written. I mean, look — things adjust all the time. That happened in season one when like the 'Me Too' movement broke in the middle of the season and we had to go back and rethink a lot of things. So, we're sort of used to this organic movement of the scripts always transforming a little bit, based on what's happening in the world. So, that doesn't really scare us. That's pretty par for the course."
He added:
"You're always rewriting these things right up until the day before they shoot, and sometimes, the day they shoot. So, we're used to changing things as the world changes — but yes, we definitely adjust scripts as new events come to light."
The final season will have eight episodes, just like the previous seasons.

The Boys Season 5 will bring back the main cast of Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jensen Ackles, and Chase Crawford, among others.
In addition, two new cast members and former Supernatural actors, Misha Collins and Jared Padelecki, will join the final season.
Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2026, but no specific date has been shared yet.
