Exciting update for all The Big Bang Theory fans! A new spin-off series is in development, and this time, it won't be about Sheldon, Leonard, or the rest of the Pasadena gang, but rather Stuart Bloom and Barry Kripke.

Yes, that's correct. While Stuart and Barry weren't the main characters in the original show, The Big Bang Theory would have been less engaging without them. So, co-creator Chuck Lorre decided to give the spotlight to these two beloved characters in the upcoming spin-off.

This will be another spin-off, following Young Sheldon, which concluded last year after seven successful seasons. Young Sheldon focused on the life of young Sheldon Cooper, a storyline the original series didn't explore in depth.

Young Sheldon ended with a two-part finale, featuring Sheldon Cooper as a 14-year-old moving to Caltech. While discussing the spin-off's conclusion, executive producer Steve Holland said:

"We started talking about the future of show, and what it looked like. This is the right time for this story to come to an end, knowing that at 14, he goes off to Cal Tech. It felt like the right time to end it strong while it was on top."

Now that fans have explored both Sheldon's teenage and adult life, it's time to focus on other characters. According to multiple reports, Kevin Sussmann, Lauren Lapkus, and Brian Posehn are returning as Stuart, Denise, and Bert.

The Big Bang Theory spin-off details: Who will return from the original show

If you're a big fan of The Big Bang Theory and loved almost every character, make sure to dive deep into the details mentioned below. The new upcoming spin-off is in development at Warner Bros. and is currently in the early stages.

However, certain details about its development, cast, and potential storylines have been released. In October 2024, news about another The Big Bang Theory spin-off surfaced, with Chuck Lorre joined by Bill Prady and writer Zak Penn as the creative team.

As previously mentioned, actors returning from the main show include Kevin Sussman as the comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, Lauren Lapkus as Denise– assistant manager at the book store and Stuart's beloved girlfriend, John Ross Bowie as the scientist Barry Kripke, and Brian Posehn as Bert Kibbler– the Caltech geologist. As for other characters from the show, there's no update on who else may return.

Even though exact plot details haven't been shared, the inclusion of Stuart, Denise, and Bert suggests the bookstore will play a key part in the spin-off. Additionally, Kripke’s involvement hints that the show could feature a scientific workplace.

However, The Big Bang Theory spin-off won't be a prequel like Young Sheldon. Instead, it will explore the lives of the characters after the original series finale. While Stuart, Denise, and Kripe might lead the show, it's expected to introduce new characters to expand the narrative.

Since the project is still in its early stages, there's no release date yet. Nevertheless, we'll keep you updated with the latest news as soon as it becomes available.
