As per reports by The Journal, the Solitano scenes were filmed in Italy, in the village of Ostia Antica. It is a small town that is situated near the International Airport of Rome.

In the 10th episode, when Emily first enters Solitano, she walks the spectacular archway that is an integral part of Ostia Antica. In the same episode, viewers can see the Castle of Julius II in the background when the villagers come together to celebrate Maria's birthday. Emily and Marcello also join them in the celebration.

There is also a historic castle in Ostia Antica that originally served as a fortress that was built to safeguard the pier that’s on the Tiber river bed. This has often been noted as a good instance of Renaissance military architecture.

Besides these two iconic figures, Ostia Antica is also filled with Roman ruins.
