After the latest episode of Chicago Med, fans have started speculating about the character of Mitch Ripley and what the future holds for him. These speculations are really not entirely baseless, because in Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13 Mitch was shown to be suspended without pay.

Nothing further was revealed about his character or what is to happen to him. The uncertainty has naturally left fans wondering if this was the last time Mitch Ripley (played by Luke Mitchell) was seen on the show.

Since it is not clear if the character will leave the show or stay, let us explore Mitch Ripley’s character in detail and what happened to him that has raised questions regarding his future on the show.

Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13 does not make it clear whether Ripley is leaving or not

Mitch Ripley’s reckless behavior and its consequences finally seemed to have caught up with him, going by Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13. The episode picks up from Episode 12, where Ripley got into a fight with a man outside the bar.

While Ripley initially had the fight under control, Episode 13 shows the man beating him up. However, when the scene shifts to the hospital the next day, viewers get to see that same man as a patient brought in by his wife.

Ripley realizes this is the same man he had a fight with the previous day. He tells Frost about the incident, asking him to take care of the man. Frost puts him out of the OT instead. Regarding Frost’s behavior, Darren Barnet mentioned to TV Insider:

“Frost is kind of getting to know the dark side of Ripley, but he’s definitely not liking it. He’s a bit jarred by it because this man is very beaten up. It wasn’t just a fight. Ripley really, really, really went in on this guy.”

He added:

“So I think it’s just showing a dark side of Ripley, too, that is a little bit difficult to digest for a character that he wants to consider a friend.”

This kind of behavior from Frost shows that things are going to get even more difficult for Ripley as people he considers friends are finding it a difficult to understand him.

Mitch Ripley was suspended without pay in Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 13

After the fiasco, Ripley comes to know that the patient’s wife is going to sue the hospital. This compels Goodwin to suspend Ripley without compensation. The episode comes to an end when Hannah asks Ripley why he is behaving in a way that would essentially ruin his life, but he does not respond.

While the latest turn of events do not necessarily mean that Ripley will not be seen again on Chicago Med, the character’s fate is uncertain. If he does not come to to work at the hospital, it is not sure what he will do next, or if he will visit the hospital in any other capacity.

As of now, neither actor Luke Mitchell nor the production house has said anything regarding what lies ahead for the character.

Chicago Med can be streamed on Peacock.
