Great news for Money Heist enthusiasts and those who can't get enough of the Berlin spinoff! Netflix has just dropped the bomb that Season 2 of Berlin is now in the works. Although we're all eager to find out the release date, for now there is no official confirmation.

If you recall, Season 1 of Berlin had us on the edge of our seats with its plot set against the glamorous backdrop of Paris. The opening season was a smash hit worldwide, and made it to the top of Netflix's non-English series charts.

For Season 2, they're moving the heist action to the sun-soaked city of Seville in Spain. The show is known for its drama, emotions, and ingeniously plotted heists, and fans would hope Season 2 maintains the tempo as a must-watch caper.

Returning favorites in Berlin Season 2 cast, and new faces

Pedro Alonso is back as the mysterious Berlin in Season 2, with his trusty gang for a new job. Michelle Jenner plays the tech-whiz Keila, Tristán Ulloa is cast as the lead's close friend Damian, and Begoña Vargas essays the brave Cameron. Let's not forget Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, the lead's devoted right-hand man, and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the group's strong and fearless protector.

Season 2 brings in new faces, too. Inma Cuesta plays Candela, a spontaneous and unpredictable woman from Seville who is key to the plan. Then there's José Luis García-Pérez playing the Duke of Málaga, a bit of an oddball, while Marta Nieto is cast as Genoveva Dante, his sophisticated yet secretive wife.

Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato are still in charge of the story, with help from the talented David Barrocal, Lorena G. Maldonado, and Itziar San Juan. For direction duties, we have Albert Pintó, who's done Sky Rojo, along with David Barrocal and Jose Manuel Cravioto.

Berlin Season 2 will be set in Spain

In contrast to the surroundings of Paris in Season 1, the action in Season 2 shifts all the way to Spain. This time, the story unfolds in the bustling, picture-perfect city of Seville. The show's creators are busy filming in some of the most amazing spots of Spain, like Madrid and San Sebastián.

This season, the story is about Berlin and his crew trying to pull off a heist more complex than ever. Netflix's Tudum gives a sneak peek, saying it's going to be full of surprises, backstabs, and dramatic confrontations between the characters.

The show's creators are looking to build on the huge success of Berlin Season 1, which was a hit all over the world, featuring on Netflix's Top 10 charts. Season 2 promises fans more emotions and suspense, while also giving a look at what makes Berlin tick and how he connects with the people around him.
