The official trailer for Disney+ Daredevil: Born Again has dropped and fans have gone gaga over the return of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. The new trailer has dropped multiple hints linking it to Netflix's Daredevil.

Daredevil, the first Marvel Netflix show, was long considered unrelated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, Brad Winderbaum, the Marvel Head of Streaming, had assured fans that Netflix's Daredevil was a part of the MCU canon during the launch of Echo, the Marvel TV show.

Speaking to ScreenRant, Brad Winderbaum mentioned-

"I can say that up until this point, we've been a little bit cagey about what Sacred Timeline, what's not Sacred Timeline."

The Marvel Head of Streaming continued:

But now that some time has passed; now that we see actually how well integrated the stories are, I think that I personally, Brad Winderbaum, would be confident in saying it is part of the Sacred Timeline"

Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays William Fisk, also confirmed the expansion of Netflix's Defenders saga to the MCU canon. He revealed that even though Marvel Studios initially had no plans to integrate Daredevil into MCU canon, The Marvel executives finally agreed to bring the Defender's saga to the MCU to balance the story. He explained to The Hollywood Reporter:

"It brings in a lot of cool stories and all the collateral story that happened in those three seasons."

The first official trailer of Daredevil: Born Again mainly focuses on the complicated dynamic relationship between superhero Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, and his archenemy Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

Not just the familiar leads, several original Netflix's Daredevil cast have joined the new Disney+ series. This includes Ayelet Zurer in the role of Vanessa Marianna, Fisk's wife, and FBI turned assassin Ben Dex Poindexter, played by Wilson Bethel.

Even though the supporting characters have not been seen since Netflix Daredevil's final season in 2018, there have been instances of Matt and Fisk appearances in Marvel projects, including the Marvel TV series Echo.

A few other connections with the MCU canon involve shots of a nightclub at Harlem's Paradise (Luke Cage), Pingo Doce (The Incredible Hulk), and a billboard advertisement for Rogers: The Musical (Avengers).
