He is one of the original characters from Season 1 of Chicago Fire. While there are many rumors about Mouch leaving the show, fans can be assured Christian Stolte and his character Mouch will not be leaving the show.
Is Mouch leaving Chicago Fire?
Christian Stolte will not be leaving Chicago Fire. In the season finale of season 11, audiences saw Mouch in critical condition after getting severely injured on the job.
Six months after the events in the season 11 finale, Mouch is shown to have survived. He returns to his job but his brush with death leads him to have a serious outlook towards his profession. Mouch also decides to take the Lieutenant test.
While talking to TVLine, the show's producer and writer, Andrea Newman stated the reason behind keeping Mouch alive in the series. She stated,
"There are still lots of stories to tell with Mouch. Going through something so traumatic, then maing it all the way back, in a lot of ways, it changes him and gives him a new approach to firefighting."
Mouch is one of the only original cast members from season 1 who is still on the show. This could be another reason why Mouch is staying as many of the original cast members have departed from the show.
