When Fallout premiered on Prime Video in April 2024, it broke viewership records, becoming the second most-watched series in the history of the streaming platform. The series received a similar response from critics and ended up securing 16 Emmy nominations.
Looking at the fans’ reaction, the post-apocalyptic drama was quickly renewed for a second season, which has begun filming. The series, inspired by video games of the same name, features a talented ensemble including Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, and Walton Goggins.
To add to the excitement surrounding Fallout season 2, the show has made a new addition to the cast. Macaulay Culkin, known for playing the kid in Home Alone, has joined the show and will play a recurring character in the second season.
Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin will be seen in Fallout season 2
Macaulay Culkin’s casting in Fallout season 2 was officially announced in November 2024. The actor will have a recurring role in the series. While the name and details about his character have been kept under wraps, Deadline reported that he will play a ‘crazy genius-type’ man in the show.
Culkin later confirmed his involvement in the project by sharing Deadline’s post on his Instagram handle and wrote:
“Yep. It's happening.”
Series creators have been able to build a mystery around Culkin’s role, and fans have different theories about which video game character he could play. Since he is a genius man, it is possible that he could have a connection with Dr. Siggi Wilzig, the fugitive and mysterious scientist played by Michael Emerson in Fallout.
Some fans have also highlighted that Culkin could portray Arcade Gannon. Gannon appears in the game Fallout: New Vegas. The character, voiced by Zachary Levi in the video game, is a doctor and scientist with light-colored hair like Culkin.
However, only Prime Video can confirm which character will Culkin eventually play in the second season.
Macaulay Culkin’s journey in the entertainment industry
Macaulay Culkin has been acting since childhood and is widely recognized for his role as Kevin McCallister in the 1990 comedy film Home Alone and its 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. His role as the smart, brave, and adorable kid made him an icon in the 1990s.
Culkin earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance and later starred in other popular films like My Girl, The Good Son, and Richie Rich. After his early success, Culkin took a break from acting in 1995 as he wanted to lead a normal life.

In addition to acting, Culkin explored music by joining a comedy rock band called The Pizza Underground in 2013. The band made fun and pizza-themed songs and gained a small following before splitting up in 2016.
