Netflix's highly acclaimed series, You Season 5, will return for a final chapter in Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg's life as he navigates to maintain a normal public life while satiating his killer streak.

While Joe has had multiple females who have fallen prey to him throughout the four seasons, Jenna Ortega's Ellie managed to escape him.

Ortega's Ellie debuted in You Season 2 as his 15-year-old neighbor, living with her sister, whom Joe murders till the end of Season 2. While Joe was concerned for Ellie and saved her multiple times, we can never really trust him.

Ortega was in talks for returning in You Season 4, but that could not go through because of her breakthrough series Wednesday. But it was revealed that she will return in the fifth season, as confirmed in the trailer.

Jenna Ortega had a positive experience with Netflix's casting, which made her You Season 5 return possible

Jenna Ortega started her career as a child actor, but her career changed for the better when she debuted in You as Ellie. She transitioned from a child actor into a street-smart teenager who can be considered for further serious roles in big projects, which worked out for the best in her hit series Wednesday.

In an interview with Complex, Ortega discussed the difficulties she has faced with casting as a Latina child actor and how Netflix's You was a turning point for her,

''... they're hiring [Latinas] to play the daughter of someone or the younger version of someone and those are typically white actresses. I remember just being really discouraged at a point in time. But after doing projects like 'You' on Netflix and things like that where I think people saw me in an older light or in a different light, I started to get more opportunities."

Star Penn Badgley, who is all set to return with You Season 5, also expressed his desire for Ortega's return in the final season in an interview with Metro,

I mean the truth is they [Netflix] would have to pay up. She's got that 'Wednesday' money now. You got to talk to Netflix. They can't take it from me either, because we're talking season 5 now Netflix! That would be great obviously, that would be so amazing. I don't know that it's going to happen. We'll see."

Ortega's Ellie's return in You Season 5, could mean trouble for Joe in the show's final season. She is still unaware that her neighbor Love killed her sister in cold blood, and it would be interesting to see how it will change her relationship with Joe.

Ellie is among the few females in Joe's life who have surpassed his killer streak because she is fierce and insubmissive. She might team up with Nadia and Marianne, and it would be an amazing finale to see the three women hunt down Joe for all his past sins.

While Joe has always cared for Ellie and has also sent her money after her sister's death, it cannot justify all of the bad deeds he has committed in the past. Seeing him at the mercy of a badass like Ellie in You Season 5 will be interesting.
