Fire Country has been serving up drama, heartbreak, and redemption like no other. But some fans have one burning question: is Jake leaving the show? Jake Crawford, played by Jordan Calloway, has had quite the rollercoaster ride throughout the series.

He got tangled in a love triangle, and also clashed with Bode Leone over family tragedies and professional differences. Jake has often found himself in the thick of the show’s biggest storylines.

The fiery bro-drama between Jake and Bode has been a centerpiece of the show. They’ve had more ups and downs than a firetruck on a bumpy road. Their friendship (if you can call it that at times) often takes center stage.

But recent events in season 3 make us wonder if their relationship has finally reached a turning point. Then what would that mean for Jake’s journey in Edgewater? While there's no official word on Jordan Calloway's departure, Jake's storyline has had fans questioning his future.

Let’s get right in and explore what’s going on with Jake.

Bode and Jake’s friendship in Fire Country

From the moment Bode returned to Edgewater, it was clear he had a lot of patching up to do, especially with Jake. Their first meeting after years apart was a physical fight. For them, it seems like nothing says "good to see you again" like throwing punches.

Their beef started with Riley, Bode’s younger sister. Her tragic death in a car crash made Bode blame himself and partially Jake. Riley had been heartbroken after Jake broke up with her which led to the fateful crash.

Bode’s guilt and grief festered into anger. This made Jake an easy target. Bode saved Jake’s life but still their relationship felt more like a tug-of-war than a friendship.

But it wasn’t just Riley. Their clashes over Gabriela, Cal Fire training, and even custody battles for Genevieve (Gen) kept their rivalry alive. Jake saved Bode’s future when he revealed Gen might be his daughter. But even that goodwill didn’t last long.

Finally, some good news. Episode 4 of season 3 showed the two finding common ground. During a tense elevator rescue, Jake placed his trust in Bode, and Bode delivered. This wasn’t just a victory for the rescue mission, it was also a breakthrough for their friendship.

After years of distrust and second-guessing each other, Jake and Bode began to act like actual friends. Jake even sought Bode’s advice about Gen. This showed a shift from their trainer-trainee dynamic to a more balanced relationship.

Jake’s future in Fire Country

As of now, there’s no official word on Jordan Calloway exiting the show. But given the way season 3 has been exploring Jake’s growth and his mended relationship with Bode, it feels like Jake still has a lot of story left to tell.

Jake’s decision to let Bode help deliver good news to Gen shows a softer side of him we haven’t seen much before. There are flashbacks of Jake, Bode, and Gen bonding over Top Gun. Those memories suggest there’s more depth to Jake’s character than just firefighting drama.

Jake and Bode are finally seen to be on good terms. This makes fans feel like the bro-drama deserves more screen time to show their bond. Most of their friendship moments seem to happen off-screen. So, viewers are left to fill in the gaps.

Jake’s character is not just a foil to Bode. He is also a firefighter trying to make it through his personal and professional challenges. So, the show’s dynamics benefits from the character’s presence.

So, for now, it doesn’t seem likely that Jake will leave Fire Country. His journey alongside Bode is far from over. Especially now that their friendship is finally on solid ground.
