As soon as fans of CSI: Miami hear Lieutenant Horatio Caine's voice, the first thing they remember is his iconic style of delivering one-liners. This is followed by a visual of him putting on his sunglasses.
CSI: Miami was one of the most popular shows during the early to mid-2000s, and was one of the most globally recognized American crime dramas. From its compelling visuals to mind-puzzling crimes, the TV show engaged fans for years. CSI: Miami revolved around the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Lieutenant Horatio Caine (David Caruso), a former homicide cop, heads the unit and is one of the key figures in the series. Due to his formidable role on the show, fans didn't expect him to die.
However, at the end of CSI: Miami Season 6, fans saw the most unexpected execution of Horatio. That being said, the character wasn't dead and had only faked his death, which was revealed in the first episode of season 7.
Did Horatio die on CSI: Miami?
The lead investigator of the Miami-Dade Crime Scene Investigation unit, Horatio Caine, discovered that he had a son, who was on parole for stealing a boat. Initially, Horatio wasn't sure if Kyle Harmos was his biological son, but he dug deeper into his past and realized that Kyle was his son.
Soon after he got over the case, a criminal's son, Damen Argento, targeted Horatio and set up a trap to kill the investigator with his own gun, after his vehicle was vandalized. Damen ended up shooting Horatio, leaving fans shocked and wondering how the lead investigator could be dead.
However, in the first episode of season 7, it was revealed that the bullets in the gun were replaced with blanks and didn't harm Horatio. He had faked his death at the end of season 6 to catch a criminal named Ron.
Why Was CSI: Miami Cancelled?
The crime drama series aired on CBS from 2002 to 2012, earning a huge fanbase globally. While the show's cancellation disappointed fans, the production house was forced to end the series for good as it gradually lost its rating and viewership.
The show's high production cost became another reason for the show's conclusion, and in 2012, the beloved show ended after completing ten seasons.

The project has lower production costs compared to the previous series, but despite that, the creator will ensure quality in visuals to engage fans.
