Paradise has been renewed for season 2

As mentioned earlier, Paradise has been renewed for season 2 before season 1 concluded as the finale episode will air on March 2025.

In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, creator Dan Fogelman shared that he already has planned out three seasons for Paradise. He said:

I have a plan for three seasons of the show. Without giving away too much, each season of the show is a slightly different show, within the same show with the same characters.

He further teased about the upcoming 7th episode being a standalone episode of season 1. He revealed:

“The pilot reveals something at the end, and then there’s twists and turns in the course of the season. Then the seventh episode is kind of a standout, standalone episode of the show. As we go into second season, we pivot a little bit, but in a way that I think is very follow-able. But yes, there’s big moves ahead.”

Actress Sarah Shahi who plays the character of Dr. Gabriela Torabi also gave insights into the exploration of new communities and how the finale of season 1 might affect Season 2 of Paradise. She told The Hollywood Reporter:

“I don’t know what Dan has in mind, but I think there’s definitely going to be some exploration. It’s something that has to be done quietly. It can’t be done on this massive scale, otherwise it’s going to create huge hysteria. So, possibly exploration of the outside world, now that we know Xavier’s wife is alive. There are some adjustments that come to the story in the finale that will affect the direction of season two.”

More about Paradise

In the same Hollywood Reporter interview, Dan Fogelman shared that he doesn’t want the audience to leave at cliffhangers and will provide all the answers that season 1 raised in the finale itself. He said:

“The goal at the end of the first season… I get frustrated by television shows that titillate and keep you guessing and have twists and turns, but then don’t give you the answers at the end of your first break going off the air. I want to provide a complete meal by the end of the episode for the audience that’s invested. Any question that people have after the first couple of episodes should be answered at the end of the eighth episode. Then a new question and journey will start that takes us into the second season.”

Paradise stars Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, James Marsden, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Sarah Shahi, and Jon Beavers.

Paradise Season 1 is streaming on Disney Plus and Hulu.
