Is Dylan McDermott leaving FBI Most Wanted? That is the only question fans have been asking after their favorite hero was injured in the premiere episode of Season 6. However, showrunner David Hudgins confirmed that his injuries will not last long and he will be back, leading the Fugitive Task Force.
While talking to TVinsider, Hudgins said:
"Don’t be concerned. He’s fine."
FBI: Most Wanted premiered in January 2020. Created by Rene Balcer, the show is a spinoff series of FBI. The show follows the Fugitive Task Force of the FBI who track and capture the dangerous criminals of the USA.
Earlier Julian McMohan’s Jess Lacroix was the Supervisory Special Agent and the leader of the task force. However, in season 3, McMohan’s Lacroix is killed by a criminal who shoots him in the neck. Dylan McDermott’s Remy Scott replaced Lacroix and became the leader of the task force in season 3.

Is Dylan McDermott leaving FBI Most Wanted?
As previously mentioned, McDermott’s Remy Scott gets seriously injured during a confrontation with a suspect. In episode 1 of Season 6, Remy Scott hits his head when a suspect knocks him backward and while he recovers from the hit, the suspect jumps to his death.
Remy is unsuccessful in his attempt to save the suspect as he was badly hurt and lying down at the end of the episode. This raised concern among fans about his departure from the show.
However, as confirmed by the showrunner, the injury will not affect McDermott’s Remy to the extent that he leaves the show.
To add to his previous comment:
"It is funny on shows like this because I’m always interested in grounding the show, and the reality is these agents do get hurt. It’s a very dangerous line of work. And so we just wanted to have him experience that. He gets a very brief case of tinnitus, but it goes away very quickly and he’s fine. It was just more of a matter of him—we wanted to show the audience that they don’t always escape these fugitives unscathed, but he’s fine. He’s not going anywhere."
Additionally, David Hudgins also shared about Remy’s and Abby’s ( Susan Misner) long-distance relationship and how it will help Remy’s character grow. He said:
"That’s the story of the season: What are they going to do? The long-distance thing is working, but there’s also a sense that Remy knows—I think that he needs to take another step because he does love her and it’s the struggle that he’s always had that it’s hard for him to put anything else above work. And that’s sort of his arc and dilemma for the season. He doesn’t want to lose Abby and he’s going to have to do some emotional growing to get there. So it reaches an inflection point about halfway through the season, and I don’t want to spoil what happens, but there’s big things ahead for Remy and Abby."
He further added:
"We love Susan Misner, and I think their chemistry is great. We’ve done a lot of stories in past seasons about Remy’s family and hadn’t really done a romance story, so we wanted to lean into that this year and they’re so great together, so it works."
