Charlie Cox returns as the iconic Daredevil/Matt Murdock when Daredevil: Born Again TV arrives on March 4, 2025. The Disney+ series is all set to introduce some new characters, too, and fans are curious to know if the show serves as a reboot to the Netflix series, Daredevil, or a sequel.
The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again is officially a sequel to Netflix's acclaimed Daredevil series. The trailer establishes the upcoming series as a sequel through a scene where Wilson Fisk and his wife Vanessa are dining, and the blood-splattered white painting from Daredevil Season 3 can be seen in the background.
The trailer also features Kingpin, with more power, asking Matt Murdock (or Daredevil) why he stopped being a vigilante. To this, Matt replies: "A line was crossed," hinting at a past action.
Is he talking about the Bullseye's attack? We will have to wait till March 4, 2025 to know. Notably, the villain is back. The trailer shows Wilson Bethell's Bullseye being escorted by guards in prison.

Daredevil: Born Again is the sequel to the Netflix series featuring Charlie Cox
The upcoming Daredevil: Born Again is a continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil series. The story begins several years after the events of the original show’s third season, featuring Cox as the lead, also bringing back familiar characters.
However, the sequel has its twists and a fresh narrative, as Wilson Fisk seems to have won over the public, as the trailer shows a crowd cheering for him. Not only this, hinting at more violence than in the original show, Fisk says:
"Sometimes peace needs to be broken. And chaos must reign."
The Daredevil series first debuted in 2015 and saw Cox's Matt Murdock being a lawyer by day and the vigilante Daredevil by night. However, in Daredevil: Born Again, Murdock seems to have stopped eliminating villains at night. His retirement, however, won't last long as we also see him wearing an improvised costume.

Who are the new characters in Daredevil: Born Again TV series?
Before we dive into details of the new characters set to intrigue fans, here's a brief about who's returning from the original show: Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are the two most obvious cast members in the sequel, but it will also feature the Punisher, Fisk's wife Venessa, and Murdock's closest friend Froggy, among others.
As for the newcomers, a deranged serial killer with an artistic streak — Muse — makes his debut as a notorious villain. Hector Ayala will be there, too, as White Tiger. He is briefly seen fighting thugs on the subway in the trailer.
The trailer also teased Matt Murdock finding a new love interest, Heather Glenn, a character fans might remember from the Marvel comics. Since not much has been disclosed about the character, it would be interesting to watch if the show follows the same narrative as the comicbooks, where Heather is struggling with alcoholism after her father's death.
