Dick Wolf Entertainment's One Chicago Franchise, which started with Chicago Fire, is one of the longest-running and most beloved procedurals on television. Enjoying the prime slot on the network for three hours is no joke, but the One Chicago franchise has proved it with its diverse characters and storylines.
The first to debut in the franchise in October 2012, Chicago Fire follows the lives of paramedics and firefighters in the Windy City's Chicago Fire Department, working at the fictional Firehouse 51.
The show stars Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg, Eamonn Walker, Christian Stolte, and Joe Minoso in the titular roles. However, it has seen many cast exits and entries throughout the thirteen-season run.
Fire is not currently streaming on Netflix in the US or internationally. Since it is an NBC show, Peacock is the exclusive platform where you can stream all seasons.
More on streaming options for Chicago Fire in our story.
Chicago Fire is not streaming on Netflix
Two One Chicago franchise shows were made available on Netflix internationally, namely Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, but they both were taken off the platform in September 2022, given their License's expiry day. Wolf Entertainment had entered a contract with Universal, which meant the show's time with Netflix was up.
Talking about Netflix US, only Chicago Med debuted on the platform in 2021, with a few initial seasons. While fans were waiting for Cicago Fire and Chicago PD to follow suit, the shows never hit the platform, and Med left the platform in July 2022.
After Wolf's exclusive deal with Universal and the show under NBC, we do not expect to see the franchise on Netflix soon.
The best streaming option for Chicago Fire is Peacock, NBC's official partner, where you can access all of NBC's library. While you can catch up on all of the previous seasons of the show, Peacock also streams new episodes of the show after a day of their release.
Chicago Fire Season 13 returned on NBC after a winter break
Chicago Fire is currently premiering its thirteenth season, which debuted on September 25, 2024. It premiered its fall mid-season finale with Episode 8, Quicksnad, on November 20, 2024.
Like all other NBC shows and the One Chicago Franchise, the show went on its yearly winter break, but this wait for new episodes finally ended as the show is now back on.
Chicago Fire returned with new episodes, and after a wait of almost two and a half months, on January 8, 2025, on NBC and Peacock.
The new episode picked up with the cliffhanger from the midseason finale, where Cruz's past came haunting back from Season 1. Cruz was approached by Junior, gang leader Flaco's cousin, who Cruz left to die in a building in Season 1.
After Flaco forces Cruz's brother to remain a part of his gang, he saves his brother and leaves the gangster to die. And after all these years, Junior is here to exact revenge on him. The episode proved dangerous for Cruz, as he was shot and brutally bleeding at the end after Junior and his men ambushed him in Episode 9 ending.
The episode also revealed that Christopher Herrmann and Mouch had passed their lieutenant exams, which they were preparing for in Episode 8.
