The order, one of the smaller plot points of the Invincible comics was just introduced in the latest episode of the third season. In this fictional universe, The Order is a shadowy organization that has been controlling crime across the world for decades. Even if they did not play a major role in the comics, most of their operations are a mystery to fans and even the heroes.

The world set up in the Prime Video animated series is both a brutal and meta love letter to superhero stories that came before. Both the Robert Kirkman comics and the animated show effectively use countless established superhero tropes. So, it isn't surprising that the Invincible show also introduces a shadowy criminal organization controlling global crime.

The Order from Invincible explained:

The Order was first introduced to readers in Invincible #47, which was published on December 5, 2007. The leader of the organization, like in the show is revealed to be Mister Liu. Identifiable by a cybernetic jawline, the man has the superpower to astral project a giant dragon that can intimidate almost everyone across this fictional universe.

Towards the end of the episode, Mister Liu is supposedly killed off by former mob boss Machine Head, who takes over as the head of The Order. After doing so, Machine Head grants Titan his autonomy and gives the latter control of the city. However, simultaneously, the boss also orders the other members of the crime organization to watch out for Titan, who is independent of The Order.

We also come across all members of The Order, and their appearance in the series does match the way those characters were drawn in the original comics written by Robert Kirkman. Here are the characters we see in this episode:

  • Isotope: Introduced in the first season of Invincible as Machine Head's right-hand man, Isotope can teleport. Apart from teleportation, he also possesses superhuman stamina. Isotope later aligns with Titan but betrays him to join Machine Head again at the end of the latest episode.
  • Red Eye: One of the mob bosses we see as a member of The Order is Red Eye, a man who is possessed by an alien from another dimension. Because of this possession, he can shoot lasers out of his eyes. His heat vision beams are controlled by willpower and they'll follow a target regardless of their speed. This ability makes him one of the most dangerous supervillains in the Invincible universe.
  • Walking Dread: This villain's name is a reference to Kirkman's other work, The Walking Dead. Nothing much is known about this beefed-up-looking supervillain. However, he does possess a wide range of powers like accelerated healing, superhuman stamina, electrokinesis, invulnerability, energy absorption, and many more.
  • Slaying Mantis: This character is from Ireland, where they control several crime organizations. Slaying Mantis possess a high-tech battle suit that's equipped with energy blades. These blades can cut through anything.
  • War Woman II: The original War Woman's girlfriend, War Woman II joins The Order to avenge her lover's death at the hands of Omni-Man. She took over the isle of Amazonia, became the second and current iteration of War Woman, and furthered The Order's influence in the Mediterranean Sea.

Other than these five, other known members of The Order are:

  1. Embrace
  2. The Face
  3. Insomniac
  4. Octoboss

But it should be noted that knowledge about this group is very scarce, even to the heroes in the Invincible comics. But it is possible that the show can expand upon this crime syndicate. Also, the closing moments of the episode reveal that Mister Liu is alive. So, it needs to be seen how he will take his revenge.
