Invincible Season 3 Episode 4: A brief recap
In Episode 4, the tension rises as we see Mark struggling with his personal and professional lives. The Guardians of the Globe face internal strife, what with Darkwing II joining as a new member. Rae, Rudy, Amanda, Rex Splode, and Bulletproof leave the team.
The fourth episode, titled You Were My Hero, begins with Mark finding a drone that was spying on the Graysons. He takes it to Rudy to determine who sent it but it gets destroyed as soon as he touches it. An angry Mark enters the Pentagon as he thinks Cecil is the culprit. Cecil thus activates the chip inside Mark's head so that he can make Mark believe otherwise.
Mark leaves the Pentagon and proceeds on a date with Eve, when he encounters time travelers Dropkick and Fightmaster who have come to seek help from Mark. They reveal their planet is on the verge of destruction due to its powerful ruler, who has become corrupt and has started killing people.
After listening to the time travelers, Mark decided to accompany them. In the fight, they get captured and Mark is taken to the King. He then realized the King is none other than Immortal. King Immortal stated to Mark that his responsibility of the ruler had made him a tyrant committed to violence. Mark kills King Immortal to end his rule. Dropkick and Fightmaster thank him and teleport him back to the past. Later Mark and Eve go out on a date in Paris.
The scene shifts to the Viltrumite prison where we see how Allen the Alien was captured by the Viltrumite. We also come to know of his wish to reform Omni-Man, so that he joins the Coalition of Planets. The executioners are ready to beat up Omni-Man when Allen breaks the shackles and frees the prisoners. The prison break sequence also featured another character — BattleBeast.
The episode opens up a lot of questions including: What will happen when Mark and Nolan face each other? What will happen when people will realize that Omni-Man is alive? Episode 5 should start the process of answering these questions.
