With Invincible Season 3 returning on February 6, 2025, we are just a week away fans of the animated series were wondering if the Mauler Twins will be returning. That question remained unanswered till December 8, 2024, when the first trailer of the third season was released. In that trailer, we finally see one of the Mauler Twins in the 59th second.
One of the show's best duos, fans missed them in the second half of season 2 despite enjoying it in general. The twins' return in Invincible Season 3 is much relief to the fans as they provided a much-needed breather to the viewers in the previous two seasons. All that we know for now is that in this season they will be confronting Oliver Grayson, Mark's paternal half-brother. The synopsis reads:
"Everything changes as Mark is forced to face his past and his future, while discovering how much further he'll need to go to protect the people he loves."
Who are the Mauler Twins seen in the Invincible Season 3 trailer?
The Maulers are competent villains who have stuck a chord with fans of dark humor through the previous two seasons. Their storylines are usually not as heavy as the main plot line of the season. While the scenes involving them are usually comedic, the Mauler Twins are more than just comedic. They are geniuses who know a lot about cloning but don't know who is the original Mauler.
Throughout the two seasons, there are two instances where the central characters seek the help of the twins with cloning. In the first season, the Robot helped the Mauler Twins escape imprisonment in return for them to build him a clone body. In the second season, the main antagonist of season 2 Angstrom Levy asks them to build a machine that could link his mind to those of his multi-versal counterparts.
Fans are hoping that the upcoming seasons will adapt the comic book storyline in which Oliver supposedly accidentally kills the twins, only for the two to return. It explains that The Mauler Twins had backup plans if both of them were to die.
Other than the Maulers, Invincible Season 3 also has other returning villains like Battle Beast, Titan, Doc Seismic, and even D.A. Sinclair's Reanimen, i.e. zombified cyborg supersoldiers.
How to watch Invincible Season 3?
On February 6, 2025, the first three episodes of the third season of Invincible will be streamed. The rest of the five episodes of season 3 will be released on a weekly basis till March 13, 2025. This is refreshing because this season does not have a long break, unlike season 2, which had a four-month gap between the first four, and the last four episodes.
The coming months of 2025 are going to be special for fans of the genre fare as we have Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Invincible Season 3, and Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on March 4, 2025. Apart from that, there are also movies like Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, Superman, and Fantastic Four: First Steps.
