Yasmin in Industry Season 3

Yasmin is at the heart of Industry Season 3. We saw her evolution from being a naive wealthy girl to a calculative woman. It has been nothing less than captivating to bear witness to her transformation. Marisa Abela’s performance? Incredible! Just watching Yasmin in Industry Season 3 finale felt like we were watching a car crash that we couldn’t turn away from.

Yasmin is teetering on the edge throughout the episode. She is seen at the gas station, looking at a woman as plain as a pikestaff. She glares at the woman’s “normal life” tolerating her chaotic children with a sense of superiority.

When she calls Henry Muck, it’s unclear if she’s actually trying to help Robert, her sort-of-love interest, or if she’s playing him for her own gain. Yasmin ends up mixed with Muck’s world, where she has to decide what she really wants - to be part of it or not.

Though inevitable, we find ourselves in the shocking twist where Yasmin gets engaged to Henry. Of course, after telling him about her fling with Robert. What’s sadder is that the engagement has nothing to do with love; it’s about something Yasmin has truly come to value more than anything else, which is survival and power.

She becomes Lady Muck in Industry Season 3. She is seen living the high life and ignoring or failing to accept and face the harsh truths of her past. Her final goodbye to Robert is heartbreaking but feels true to the world Industry is built upon.

Harper in Industry Season 3

The most intriguing character arc of Industry Season 3 is undoubtedly that of Harper’s. In the beginning, it feels like she might join hands with Otto and become his “spiritual successor.” But Harper, being Harper, obviously does the opposite. She does not just want a seat at the table, she wants to topple the table.

So, she teams up with Petra. And, they tell Otto that they don’t want his money or influence.

For Harper, this is a huge shift. She has always been the kind who has been driven by the need to prove herself worthy in the men dominated world of power. But finally, she’s doing something on her own, which shows a unique kind of growth for her.

Harper’s ambitions take an even more drastic turn when she decides to start a hedge fund focused only on shorting stocks. This feels risky, but also feels very Harper. She’s not the kind to settle for easy victories and she has made that crystal clear. Industry Season 3 finale gives us a Harper that is as cunning and ruthless as ever and now doing things at her own will.

The fall of Pierpoint in Industry Season 3

The end of Industry Season 3 sees the fall of the powerful financial firm, Pierpoint. Eric, who has always been tough and resolute, is seen facing an existential crisis. He has to rally the London traders after his disastrous night of trading. So, things are not okay at all.

His inspiring speech to the traders about money being the solution to everything reeks of desperation, but it’s also insightful, at the same time. While Eric clings to the idea that money is the answer to all woes, it’s obvious that Pierpoint is falling apart. It is tragic to see Eric try and hold the ship as it begins to sink.

Industry Season 3 shows us that not every story needs a happy ending to be considered a good story. It can be one with characters still struggling their way through a cutthroat world where they, sometimes, need to make certain questionable decisions.

With the fall of Pierpoint, the door is wide open for what’s to come next in Industry. We don’t know what life has in store for the major characters. What we know is we can’t wait enough for Season 4 to come to our screens.

Industry can be streamed on Max.
