The Traitors star, Charlotte Chilton, disclosed back in June 2024 that her newborn baby's father was Conor Maynard. Now, Conor has released an official statement denying Chilton's claim and stating that he is not Penelope's father.
On March 14, 2025, Conor Maynard took to his official Instagram account and revealed that he is not the father of The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton’s baby. He stated he was "glad" to end the "speculation" regarding him potentially being the father after Chilton claimed her baby looked "identical" to Conor. Maynard's statement mentioned:
"Earlier this week, I took a paternity test regarding Charlotte Chilton's baby girl Penelope, in the presence of her legal representative. Today I've received the test results which confirm that I am not Penelope's father. I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end.'"
Even though Chilton hasn't made any comment yet, she did open up about the hardships she was facing being a single mother. She talked about the financial struggles and moving back with her parents last year.

Conor's statement continued by mentioning that people should "act with kindness" and that he wished the best for The Traitors star, Charlotte Chilton. He said:
"All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news - there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best."
Previously, in an interview with OK! Magazine, The Traitors star Charlotte stated she had reached out to Conor to let him know about the baby. According to Chilton, she wanted to keep the baby's father in the loop and had the "right to know" about the baby. She said:
"He knows [I've given birth] I've not heard anything, I had real torment over whether to contact him when she was here or not. And I figured I don't want to speak to him, but he has a right to know. I knew if I didn't reach out people would say I hadn't bothered.'"
She stated that it wasn't her decision to make whether Conor should be involved in her daughter's life or not. The Traitors star wanted to give her daughter the option to decide if she wanted her father's involvement in her life once she grew up. In another interview with Mail Online, Charlotte opened up about her financial struggles. However, she also mentioned she had a strong support system as she moved back in with her parents. She said:
"Penelope has got everything she needs don't get me wrong, she's got nice clothes, we're booked into baby massage, she's learning to swim, but that's because I put her first. I go without so she can have these things."
