Robert Herjavec, entrepreneur and Shark Tank investor, recently shared a video on his Twitter talking about insecurities and how he effectively deals with them at his age.

Starting with how people always assume that he has effortless success, he says that he is not immune to self-doubt either. In this conversation, he talked about his struggles with insecurities and how he tends to manage them in his daily life.

Explaining how fear and self-doubt do not vanish with success, Robert points out that people always seem to think that it is easy for him. Instead, he actively deals with them even now and this has been his routine since he started his career.

The Shark Tank investor pointed out that fear and worry go hand in hand for him even though he is now in a good place financially and is successful. Talking about the same, Robert says,

"I mean, I wake up and I'm scared of this, I'm scared of that. I worry about this or that. I wallow in my own misery some days."

Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec on dealing with fear and insecurities

Robert Herjavec has been on Shark Tank as an investor for a while now. He often shares his personal struggles, motivation, and business tips via his social media accounts.

In this recent one, he talked about his battle with insecurities and how they are still a part of his life even after achieving success. He says a lot of things make him worried every day and this even gets him down in a spiral for days.

However, he points out that people do not know about this side of the media and thus, it is why people assume that he must be confident. Talking about the same, he says,

"People say this all the time. Must be great to be you. You know, you have no fear. You're confident. It's easy. And I always think, no matter how big you get, the difference is, those insecurities for me never go away."

Then Robert talked about everything that successful people do next to deal with these insecurities that take over their minds. Talking about how he manages it, Robert says that he tries to contain it.

The only thing that sets him apart is how he does not let that feeling dominate him for longer periods. However, this was not always the case. The Shark Tank investor says that when he was younger, the insecurities and fear would creep into his mind and it would "affect him for days."

But as he has grown older and molded his habits and business, he finds less time to sit and think about all the negative things. He says that instead of this fear paralyzing him for days, he has learned how to compartmentalize it.

This is the way, according to Robert, to contain it. The ability to recognize negative thoughts without allowing them to plague one's mind is a skill that he has cultivated over time. He says,

"I think the difference is, how long I let myself stay there. I think when I was younger, it would affect me for days. Now, I just don't have the luxury of that time. I try to limit, those dark moments, you know, into small boxes."

The perspective shared by Robert is valuable, especially when he pointed out how in this era of social media, it is easy to think that success eradicates self-doubt or worry.

Season 16 episodes of Shark Tank are released weekly on ABC at 8 PM Eastern Time on Fridays. They are later available to watch on Hulu.
