"I think Reese Witherspoon": When Young Sheldon cast interviewed each other shortly before the crossover episode with TBBT

Even though Young Sheldon is set decades before the events of The Big Bang Theory, CBS ensured to entertain fans with a crossover. Like most of the acclaimed shows, it was designed to create a stronger emotional tie between the younger and older versions of Sheldon Cooper.

Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage and Mckenna Grace sat down to interview each other before the crossover episode in 2018. When asked which actress would suit the role of adult Paige, Mckenna replied:

"I think Reese Witherspoon because she's a lot like Paige and legally blonde."

Armitage, who has worked with the actress in Big Little Lies, mentioned Grace being "awesome and kind," like Witherspoon. McKenna Grace was then asked about one celebrity she would love to meet.

She said she'd be thrilled to meet Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep and has been "obsessed" with her lately. Grace was surprised to know that Ian Armitage had worked with The Devil Wears Prada star as well.

Young Sheldon stars Ian Amritage and McKenna Grace sat down for a fun interview

Even after The Big Bang Theory came to an end, fans didn’t have to say goodbye to Sheldon as his story continued in Young Sheldon. However, the prequel series has also wrapped up after Season 7, and there are reports that the TBBT universe will expand with a new spin-off.

However, here we're talking about the same interview between Ian Amritage and his co-star McKenna Grace. The Gifter star then asked Amritage about his "most unusual habit", and the actor said:

"I jam-packed my bed with stuffed animals so that I barely have any room."

Grace admitted that she does the same, suggesting the two have one unusual habit in common. The co-stars share a great bond on set. Grace played a recurring role, and Amritage once shared on his Facebook that he loves it when McKenna shows up on the sets of Young Sheldon.

Did Paige show up in the Young Sheldon finale?

No, Paige Swanson did not appear in the final moments of Young Sheldon, despite being a nemesis to Sheldon Cooper. McKenna Grace was last seen in Season 6, Episode 16 titled "A Stolen Truck and Going on the Lam", after which Piage did not appear in the prequel.

Paige's absence ignited many questions among fans, and it was finally addressed by the show’s executive producer, Steve Holland. During an interview, Holland explained that Paige was introduced to show a possible path Sheldon could have taken, someone just as smart but not as supported.

He said:

"People ask about Paige all the time, and she was only in [nine] episodes... When we got into this season, especially with it being a shortened season, we never thought that [Paige’s storyline] was an arc that needed more closing than it got. "

Holland continued:

"There was a parallel; she was a bit of a mirror image of Sheldon — a different way that Sheldon could have turned out — and I think we saw that play out."

Even if Paige's story concluded from a writer's point of view, fans still believed she deserved more. McKenna Grace was highly praised for her part, and Paige remains an adored character from the show.
