"I really was an inventor" - Shark Tank's Lori Greiner reveals how she became a businesswoman

Shark Tank investor Lori Greiner recently talked about her beginnings in the business world. She said that she did not set out as a businesswoman but a "creator."

Her initial journey helped her to become a businesswoman later in life when her product took off. Greiner also said that it was not her plan to be in business.

Lori often shares her ideas and opinions on her social media accounts. She talks about finance, business, and her life as well. This time, she revealed what helped her become a successful businesswoman.

In a reel posted on her Instagram, the Shark Tank investor said that it was all because of her being creative, that she was able to build something that later helped her step into business.

She said that once you are at a certain point, the business world just comes to you without you, even realizing it. And now that she was here, it has given her all the titles, be it a businesswoman, a creator, or an inventor. Talking about the same, Shark Tank investor Lori said,

"You know what's funny is, I became a businesswoman by chance. I really was an inventor and a creative and a creator and I was constantly coming up with ideas for things."

Shark Tank investor Lori Greiner talked about how she was creating all these successful items which were even featured on the "New York Times Best Seller List." This prompted her to take action towards building her product and learning all the things about marketing and selling it. This is what got her into business. Continuing, Lori said,

"One day, I saw, my other ideas out there on the market and they were a big success. They were on the New York Times Best Seller List and I came up with my earring organizer and I said this time I'm going to do it. And I just set about figuring it out."

Lori then shared that she had never gone to a business school. It was only when her product took off that she started to learn about the entire industry and its technicalities. This is what helped her become a businesswoman. She said,

"So I really wasn't a businesswoman. I didn't go to business school, I was a creator and an inventor. Made a product, and then, set about figuring out how do I make it? Market it? Sell it? What do I do to bring this to life?"

The Shark Tank investor further said that what mattered the most in her journey was the hard work and how much time she had put into her ideas and products.

It all started when started to become successful, that the drive was ignited inside of her and she kept working passionately towards it and never looked back. This has helped her become all of the things that she wanted to. She said,

"So it was hard work and once you create something and it's successful, then, all of a sudden you are in business and you are a business person and I just kept going, going, going. I had the drive and the determination to make it happen and today, I'm all of the above. I'm a business person, I'm a creator, I'm an inventor and I'm going to be so much more."

Lori is currently an investor on Shark Tank. As for her business, she has indeed been creative all her life and holds over 120 patents under her name. Her career started after graduating in communications when she was selling jewellery as a side hustle while being a playwright.

After creating many products that help people, Lori decided to create a business and learned everything during her journey.
