On March 23, 2018, the police found David Reiss dead in his Minnesota home and his wife nowhere to be found. Later, it was discovered that David's body had multiple gunshot wounds and $11,000 missing on him.
After further investigation, it was found that her wife Lois Reiss had murdered him and ran away with the money. Reiss continued her running spree, during which she gambled, embezzled funds, and killed Pamela Hutchinson to steal her identity, until April 19, when the police finally arrested her.

Lois admits her gambling addiction and problems in her marriage. She has had a tumultuous relationship with her husband, who she was also intimidated by.
