Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary shared a clip via his Instagram on March 5, 2025, discussing his thoughts on work-life balance. Mr. Wonderful stated that his family has been inquiring about when he might retire. However, he revealed that he is "never" retiring.
The reason behind not retiring was because, according to the Shark Tank mentor, he now has opportunities to do "extraordinary" things:
"So do you feel in your life that you have work-life balance? What is your thought on that? It's probably not as much as my family would like because by now they're saying, why aren't you retired? And I said, I'm never retiring. The things I do now are the chance to do them as extraordinary."

Renowned ABC reality series Shark Tank featured Kevin O'Leary and a few fellow sharks. Kevin O'Leary, aka Mr Wonderful, shared a video clip via his Instagram, shedding light on his potential retirement plans.
Talking about work-life balance, the Shark mentioned that his family has been asking him why he hasn't retired. However, his thoughts were quite different, as he "never" wanted to be retired.
From experience gathered over the years and the knowledge he gained in all those years, Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary mentioned that the doors had "just" opened for him. As for the "outcome", he added that he would want to stop because if he were to retire, he wouldn't be "happy."
"Just the doors that opened to me from the outcome of what I've done so far are incredible. So why would I stop? I think I wouldn't be happy, but I try to do as much as I can, but the truth is my wife put up with me for all those years and I was never home," shared Kevin O'Leary.
The Shark Tank investor captioned the Instagram clip with the following:
"People keep asking me, Why don’t you retire? It’s because I love what I do. The doors that open for me now are extraordinary. Why would I stop? Sure, my wife raised our family while I was out building—she gets all the credit for that. But I’m never sitting on a beach doing nothing. Not happening."
He concluded the video by stating that his wife handled almost everything whenever he was not home and "put up" with him. Giving her "credit", he mentioned that he was proud of the outcome with their kids and everything they have achieved.
Kevin also accepted that despite not being able to be the "best" family man, he was a "good provider" for his family, and he has been trying his "best."
