If there's one thing that the Gilmore Girls loyal fanbase will never get over, it's Yanic Truesdale as the mostly grumpy, but always sarcastic, concierge at the Independence and later Dragonfly Inn, Michel Gerard. Truesdale's Gerard is one of the most iconic characters that the show has given, with some of the most sarcastic quips:
"People are particularly stupid today, I cannot talk to any more of them"
Michel makes zero attempt to hide his universal dislike of people on most days at work in the Independence Inn, however, the actor Yanic Truesdale is quite the opposite of his most memorable character.
In a recent conversation with People, Truesdale talked about how people still stop him on the street, 25 years after the show ended, to gush about the show and his character. Unlike his character Michel, Truesdale does not mind this one bit and has long since accepted the fact that he will always be known as Michel Gerard.
Here's how he feels about this heartwarming love from fans of Gilmore Girls.
Yanic Truesdale on the love he continues to receive from Gilmore Girls fans

Yanic Truesdale, who played Michel Gerard on the iconic and witty drama Gilmore Girls, was recently seen on another Amy Sheridan Palladino-created series, Étoile, which premiered on April 15. It appears, though, that fans are yet to look at Truesdale as anyone other than Michel.
In a recent conversation with People, Truesdale talked about how he is still stopped every day by fans wanting to talk about the show and his character.
"Every day. All the time. 40 times a day. People were waiting in front of my hotel today, and I was like, 'How do they know I live here?' "
If this were Michel, he'd be fuming at the mouth, while saying, "Every day that you breathe, you make my life harder." Luckliy for the fans, Truesdale does not mind the intrusion at all and is always happy to talk to fans about Gilmore Girls and Michel Gerard. He has accepted the scale of impact that the show had on the fans, and continues to have, even 25 years later, cannot be replicated, so he'll take all the love he can get.
"It's great, because you don't get so many parts that have such an impact on people 25 years later, I'm not going to fight it. I'm Michel, and it's okay."
Truesdale also talked about how Amy Sheridan Palladino gave him an artistic career in the American Entertainment Industry through Gilmore Girls, and how in awe he is of their talent in the business:
"They (Amy and Daniel Palladino) have the best dialogue in the business. Their talent is indisputable, and it's just amazing to [work with] someone that has such a strong voice and a strong vision."
Truesdale's Étoile, "a love letter to dance and to art" as described by him is available to stream on Amazon Prime and if you're craving some more of the sarcastic and quippy Michel, all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls is available to stream on Netflix.
