Fans witnessed The Great American Baking Show Season 8 premiere on April 11, 2025. The Grand Finale episode of the renowned competition show featured a final challenge between the three finalists. Adela Mou, Daniel Freiburger, and Kim Goldfeder Clarke.
After an exciting finale, the winner was revealed, and the one who won the prestigious cake stand was Kim Goldfeder Clarke. The show features amateur bakers competing against each other to win the title.
As the final challenge ended and the results were announced, Kim Goldfeder Clarke's name was announced as the winner. She couldn't believe it when her name was announced as The Great American Baking Show winner.
"I did it. I can't believe I did it. I'm always like the bridesmaid, but I don't feel like the underdog anymore. I hope I'm deserving of the title. I still have that little, like, 12-year-old girl going, 'What the hell, what just happened?' But I'm holding this thing [cake stand] and I'm just very proud," said Kim Goldfeder Clarke.
The Great American Baking Show Season 8: Kim Goldfeder Clarke wins the title
As Kim Goldfeder Clarke was announced as the new The Great American Baking Show champion, the judges congratulated her. Judges, including Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, told Kim she deserved to win. They also mentioned Kim's performances have been noteworthy throughout the baking show.
Later in the episode, Paul Hollywood told the cameras that Kim had practiced baking almost 30 times for some of her bakes to get things done right. It shows how passionate she is and the "drive" she has.
Fans witnessed the finalists preparing chocolate tarts with tempered chocolate for the signature challenge. Kim baked a chocolate coffee tart with a baked chocolate filling. It was topped with chocolate features and roses. There was dark chocolate hazel ganache on top with spiral decorations.
The Great American Baking Show judges mentioned that the look of Kim's tarts was "unorthodox." Prue Leith also enjoyed Kim's tart and stated that it was delicious, and she also loved the "texture" of the brownie.
"It's very delicious. I like the brownie texture very much. But it's very rich. You won't be able to eat a huge piece of it," said Prue.
Further on the finale's technical challenge, bakers were assigned to make six "perfectly twisted and shaped kanelbullar Swedish cinnamon buns." For that, Kim got second place after the judges' blind tasting.
During the showstopper challenge, the finalists needed to prepare a spring landscape centerpiece. It should consist of a cake and two more bakes, making one savory.
Kim made a cinnamon carrot cake rabbit with sweet sultana cream cheese icing. It also featured cherry rhubarb pie. In addition to that, she baked a rosemary focaccia bread with many colorful vegetables added on top. Judges appreciated Kim's bake's " looks " and felt her pastry was "delicious."
