Love is Blind UK aired the first four episodes of its British debut season on August 7, 2024, on Netflix. It is a dating reality show that originally started with the US version in 2020. The goal of the show is to help interested individuals find their potential partners through a blind dating experiment.
Individuals go on blind dates in their respective pod on Love is Blind UK, just like the other international versions. Through conversation, they try to find their potential romantic connection. Once couples agree to get engaged, they get to see their partners for the first time.
In Love is Blind UK season 1 episode 2, one of the participants, Catherine, a dental nurse by profession, decided to step back from developing her connection with Ollie.
The reason behind it was that another fellow participant, Demi, was also exploring her connection with Ollie. As a result, Catherine decided that she would be the bigger person and let it go. During episode 2 of the show, Catherine shared with Ollie:
"Do you know what? I’m gonna be the bigger person."
Why did Catherine step back from Ollie on Love is Blind UK?
During the second episode of Love is Blind UK, Catherine, 29, confessed that she had got on with Freddie from day one. She shared that he has been on her top list. However, she also had “a tight” bond with Ollie, as she confessed.
Sharing more about Ollie, Catherine shared that there was something about him that put a smile on her face. On the other hand, Ollie, 32, working in software sales, was confused between Catherine and Demi.
Love is Blind UK episode 2 featured Ollie going on pod dates with both Catherine and Demi. During his date with Catherine, she wished Ollie a happy birthday and asked how it was going.
Ollie thought briefly and then shared with Catherine that it had been a confusing day. Hearing that, Catherine asked where his head was. Ollie replied:
"All over the place."
Catherine then told him that she would make things easier for Ollie. She told him that he should go and explore the other option with someone else (meaning Demi). She revealed to Ollie that she knew about the person who was his other option.
However, Catherine didn’t want to get "in the way," and because she wanted Ollie to be happy, she wanted to make it easy for him.
Catherine then told Ollie that she wouldn't be exploring her connection with him and would be the "bigger person." Seeing such a gesture from Catherine, Ollie complimented her and said she was cool. He said:
"Even at this moment, you’re just so you. And this is the person that I've really, really enjoyed getting to know. I really thank you for everything. But, um, that other connection just, you know…"
Catherine added that she hoped that he was happy, while Ollie wished her the same. Later when Catherine returned to the female quarters, Maria asked her about the date and how she felt.
Catherine shared with fellow females that she felt good and that she made the right decision. Maria told her that as long as Catherine felt like she made the right decision, that was all she needed to know.

Fans can stream the first four episodes of the popular dating reality show Love is Blind UK on Netflix. Viewers who have binge-watched the released episodes will have to wait until August 14, 2024, when the platform will release upcoming episodes 5 to 9.
