Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary recently appeared on Fox Business and discussed ongoing tariff negotiations. He shared an Instagram clip on April 25, 2025, where he could be seen sharing his views on the current negotiations between the U.S. and China.

When the Fox Business news representative asked the Shark Tank judge his views on President Trump discussing the tariff negotiations, which China reportedly denied, he responded:

"I want to solve the big Kahuna problem, not just tariffs to China, IP theft, access to their markets, delist companies don't comply, the rules I have to comply to, they cost me millions of dollars. They don't have to. Why do they get to do that? Why don't we just get it on the table? I don't care what they say. I know they're talking because they don't have a choice."

Among the series of recent Instagram reels shared by Shark Tank judge Kevin O'Leary, one focuses on ongoing tariff negotiations. While the US President Trump said the negotiations are underway, China reportedly denied any such thing happening.

Reacting to that, Kevin O'Leary said he wanted to solve this "big Kahuna problem." In addition to the tariffs, he mentioned: IP theft, access to Chinese markets, and delisting companies that do not comply with the rules he has to comply with. He also noted that it has cost him "millions of dollars."

He said they had to "squeeze" heads while still the "largest economy" on earth.

"You have to squeeze heads while we're the largest economy on earth. That's 39% of everything consumed at 26.1% of the world's GDP. Squeeze while you can. Otherwise, you'll never get this opportunity again," he added.

O'Leary Ventures chairman added that he wanted the administration to solve this problem after 20 years. Referring to the "Trump derangement syndrome," he stated:

"I want this administration to solve this problem after 20 years. And, you know as far as the Trump derangement syndrome, I get it, half the people don't like them. I don't even care about that anymore. It's not about Trump. It's about settling a huge problem with an economy that cheats and steals IP and wants to win by not paying for it. I'm done with that."

Shark Tank's investor said millions of other investors were in the "same boat" as he was. However, adding more context, Kevin mentioned that Chinese President Xi has no upcoming election. But, Trump has midterms coming up.

He stated they have the "leverage" and want to "cut a deal." He mentioned wanting to sell products in China, but he wanted to "level" the playing field. Kevin noted that the time to negotiate is now.

Shark Tank is currently streaming its sixteenth season on ABC, where Kevin O'Leary is one of the panelists.
