"I hope he gets it!"The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge opens up about reprise of Greg aka Jon Gries in Season 3

The White Lotus Season 3 premiered on February 16, 2025, and saw a few recurring characters from the past season, including Jon Gries' character, Greg Hunt, and Natasha Rothwell's character, Bellinda. However, Jennifer Coolidge, who played Tanya McQuoid (Greg's wife), is not happy with the return of Greg, her possible murderer.

In an interview with Forbes, Coolidge opened up about the death of her character in The White Lotus Season 2. She teased her dislike for Greg's character and said,

"As you know Jon Gries has shown up. I hope he gets it! I hope they do something terrible to him."

When asked about whether she was following the current season. She said,

"Yes, I am. And I'm envious as hell"

Jennifer Coolidge, however, pointed out that her character, Tanya, won't be returning to the HBO series and there would be no twists to her story. She continued,

"I felt like-Oh, this is going to be really good! I just felt like everything he (Mike White) set up -it's really eerie, you're not quite sure what people are up to yet? My guess? Something's going to go horribly wrong."

In The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 1, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) went to Thailand's hotel bar after her boyfriend Rick (Walton Goggins) went to explore the hotel. There she befriends a stranger called Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon). Chloe introduces Chelsea to her boyfriend and it's none other than Greg.

With the return of recurring characters, Gries aka Greg and Bellinda, Tanya's friend, the stakes are higher. As the plot for the new season progresses, some dots connect it to the previous ones.

How did Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya McQuoid die in The White Lotus?

In The White Lotus Season 1, Tanya was introduced as a grieving daughter whose mother recently died. She went to the White Lotus resort in Hawaii to rejuvenate, where she meets Belinda, the spa manager, and even offered to fund her business. It's here where Tanya meets Greg, and asks him out on a date. However, Tanya backs out of Bellinda's spa business and leaves the resort.

In Season 2, Tanya arrives at the White Lotus resort in Sicily with her husband, Greg. Tanya's relationship with Greg gets strained, leading to a lot of fights. Tanya then discovered that Greg might be linked to Quentin (Tom Hollander) and they might be lovers. A paranoid Tanya runs to the boat after imagining she is being chased by a group of men. She shoots Quentin and others who were chasing her. However, while escaping she slips, falls off the party boat and dies.
