"I got his ticket" - Love During Lockup star Jakeema discusses her relationship with Donny to her father

Love During Lockup Season 5 released its latest episode on January 31, 2025. The episode continued the drama going on with the cast members and one of them was Jakeema. She is 34 years old currently and has one child. However, her relationship with Donny, an inmate is taking a new turn as revealed recently.

The two had started dating after she found out his profile on TikTok and they chatted. Jakeema was comfortable with the relationship because she has also dated inmates. Even though they had a rough time, Donny tried his best and did everything for her from prison.

Soon the money issues started when Donny would deposit money into her account from prison. She had never questioned where it was all coming from. However, the recent episode revealed what was happening.

Jakeema also sat down with her father on FaceTime and revealed her relationship with Donny to him as he was concerned about her well-being.

Revealing the reason why Donny will be in prison longer than he expected, Jakeema explained to her father on Love During Lockup,

"I got his ticket in the mail and it said something about, he was procuring drugs in the facility. And now they got my name in it, talking about how he had the money sent to my Cash App."

Love During Lockup's Jakeema has been together with Donny for a while now. She has twin boys under her care and even moved the family to Ohio from Texas just so she could be close to him while he was serving time. She had previously thought that Donny would be released in 6 more months as per his sentence.

However, he has been sent to the hole because of his recent activity inside of prison which has made his sentence longer, to about 20 months.

During the episode, Jakeema's father was concerned for his daughter's safety and asked her to not get mixed up in all of that. He was particularly taken aback by how Jakeema's name was involved in the case just because Donny had transferred money to her account which he got by selling drugs while being imprisoned. Warning her, he said,

"Well, don't you get mixed up in that sh*t. Because you my baby and I don't want nothing to happen to you."

At the beginning of this segment, when Jakeema calls her father to finally reveal her relationship, she is hesitant at first. Her father instantly realized that there was something wrong with the way she was behaving and pointed out that she didn't look "too happy."

Finally telling her father, Love During Lockup star Jakeema tells him that Donny is actually in prison. Continuing, she told him it was because of "drugs and trafficking." Her father was shocked at this and said,

"You're so damn smart you outsmarted your damn self."

At the beginning of their relationship, Jakeema pulled away from it because she was unsure if it would work out with Donny being in prison.

However, he was persistent with his approach and convinced her to give him a shot. Soon, he even started sending money to her CashApp. Jakeema had never questioned Donny where the money came from while in prison.

It was only revealed when she was talking to her father that Donny is still getting drugs inside the prison which has got him in trouble and a longer sentence.

By the end of the episode, Donny talks to her father himself and asks for Jakeema's hand in marriage and she says yes. Love During Lockup star has recently shared on her Instagram, the ring that Donny had proposed her with.
