Love is Blind stars Dave and Lauren, after moving into their apartment complex and taking the next step towards their relationship, started facing roadblocks in the same. The issue arose when the engagement was revealed to Dave's friends and family, and especially his sister, who took an objection to it.
It was because of a past relationship that Lauren had which was strictly "friends with benefits" as described by her. She claimed that she broke it off before leaving for the pods, but Dave does not think that it is enough.
He says that his sister and friends both are unsure about the entire relationship, given that the mystery guy has also been trying to reach out to Lauren to reconnect. In Love is Blind episode 11, the two finally sit down to decide what they want for their future.
Lauren doesn't seem to understand why this is affecting Dave so much if he claims to love her. She thinks it is a "minuscule" issue to move on from because this was her past before she had even met him. Dave says that he still loves her through all of it and that is the hard part for him. Expressing her feelings, Love is Blind star Lauren says,
"I question that. I really do. I'm like, 'If he loved me, and if he said all the things he's saying to me to his sister, she would be like, so excited for you and wanting to meet me and wanting to be a part of this.' So like, I don't doubt that we have this connection but I do doubt how you actually feel about me."
Love is Blind stars Lauren and Dave end their relationship
Episode 11 of Love is Blind saw Lauren and Dave put an end to their relationship. Dave still has not moved on from the fact that Lauren had h**ked up with a guy before coming to the pods and meeting with him.
She has clearly stated that there was no emotional connection with that person, but Dave has refused to let that go. He has also kept his family away from Lauren, and they did not appear on Love is Blind.
Lauren has been seeking a chance to get to know them and explain her side but he has refused. Finally deciding to end it, Dave says that it is "hard for him" to do but thinks that it is the "right decision." Lauren agrees to it. In a confessional, Dave says,
"I'm sad, I'm mad, I'm frustrated. We have such a great connection. I feel like I let her down in a way because I couldn't get over my own ego, my own pride that she could have seen some other guy before me, which is very normal. I'm mad at myself for that. But I love her, and I probably always will. But... I don't know, at the end of the day, this felt like the right decision. Love is blind but I don't think marriage is."
Lauren also teared up and left the building. Later in a confessional on Love is Blind, she revealed her side of the story and how hard she was trying to make things right with Dave's family. She said,
"This wouldn't matter if he was in love with me enough to wanna marry me. You wanna marry me, but you're not gonna let me explain to your sister and your friends a h**kup that I had? When he went to go his sister, like, a week ago, I wrote a letter to her a letter to explain who I am and the whole situation and how crazy it is, but like how much I wanna be with Dave and how much I love him and how much I care about her support.
Lauren explained that this whole situation has made her hurt like never before. She said,
And he just didn't give it to her. I've never been this pissed at someone, but also sad for them and with them at the same time. I'm really sad this didn't work out. I'm so incredibly sad about it. I'm also possed that he let it get here. Like, I've not been heartbroken like this."
