In a rather exciting episode of Netflix's hit reality show Dubai Bling, tensions peaked as Ebraheem Al Samadi said for himself:
"I am the best friend someone can have, but in the same time, I can be the worst enemy."
He said this on January 8, 2024, during Episode 9 of the third season of Dubai Bling, appropriately named "Will Time Heal?" The episode highlighted the complicated relationships between Ebraheem and Marwan "DJ Bliss" Al Awadhi's wife, Danya, as well as the fallout from a physical altercation between Ebraheem and Marwan.
A violent altercation over a breakfast meeting escalated what started as unresolved stress, resulting in damaged pride, strained friendships, and a gender reveal party that did little to patch things up.
What happened at the breakfast between Dubai Bling's Ebraheem and Marwan?
The story began with what appeared to be a laid-back breakfast with close friends, but things soon got out of hand. Feeling that his character was being personally attacked, Ebraheem confronted Marwan and said, "This is the third time you've done this." This, naturally, caused tensions to rise.
Ebraheem violently pushed plates across the table at Marwan and Hanna as the fight heated up. Marwan lost his temper and threw a dish back. Ebraheem suffered a face injury in the confusion, and others restrained him as he attempted to attack Marwan. Ebraheem ultimately needed to be taken to the hospital.
In a particularly revealing conversation with Salem, who attempted to mediate the situation in this episode of Dubai Bling, Ebraheem remained unapologetic about his approach to conflict.
"He knows me, he knows when someone attacks me, I come back tenfold,"
Ebraheem declared, showcasing his unwavering stance on the matter. His comments suggested a deep-seated belief in responding to perceived slights with amplified force.
In another instance, while talking to Salem, Ebraheem aimed at Marwan and Danya's relationship, dismissing accusations that he was trying to cause trouble in their marriage.
"Trying to make the world think that Ebraheem is here to destroy my marriage. Which is not true. His marriage is already destroyed. He doesn't need me to come destroy it,"
He stated, adding fuel to an already volatile situation. The comment came in the wake of earlier drama from the previous episode of Dubai Bling where Ebraheem had revealed Danya's pregnancy without her consent, leading her to express her hurt with the emotional statement,
"It's like someone stabbed me in the heart."
What was the final resolution?
This episode of Dubai Bling culminated at Marwan and Danya's combined 10th anniversary and gender reveal celebration, where the couple announced they were expecting a baby girl. In what appeared to be an attempt at reconciliation, Ebraheem attended the event bearing both a gift and an apology.
Marwan, however, was skeptical of his gesture and noted in his confessional, "Too late." Viewers of Dubai Bling were left wondering about the future of these previously close friendships as the statement implied that certain wounds would require more than one gesture to heal.
The show proved how easily relationships may fall apart in Dubai's high-society circles, where pride, loyalty, and reputation frequently intersect with relationships. The issue of whether time will cure these deep-seated scars still stands as this dramatic chapter comes to an end.
Dubai Bling Season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
