Netflix's Love on the Spectrum Season 3 premiered its debut episode on April 2, 2025. The show featured individuals on the spectrum looking to find their romantic connection. One of the cast members was Madison. While opening up about herself and her childhood, the female cast member revealed many details.
When she was asked about being judged because of her autism, Love on the Spectrum star Madison answered:
"I was bullied a lot when I was growing up. It's a sad topic for me. Like, they were dropping school supplies on my head. They were calling me loser, freak, names like that. Because I...Emotionally, I happen to be more of a child due to my autism. I don't think of it as a bad thing at all. But when I was younger, I wanted to be like everybody else."
Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1: Madison opens up about her childhood, growing up with dolls, and more
The first episode of the Netflix show featured Madison recalling her childhood and how she faced bullies during her school time. However, as she grew up, the female cast member stated, she had "embraced" it more.
"As I've gotten older, I've started to embrace it more."
Further in the episode, Madison opened up about having her dolls and how they became part of her. She showcased her 40 American Girl dolls and how they became her favorite dolls.
"One thing about having autism is my dolls are a part of me. They can't be taken from me. So these are my 40 American Girl dolls and my favorite dolls to collect. Right here is my Madison doll. She's my ultimate comfort object. This doll's my mini-me. I'm never getting rid of her. Ever. Like, on a bad day, she'll go with me somewhere."
Exploring all her dolls, she shared some of their names, history, and backgrounds with the camera. There was Molly, whose story took place during World War II. That was the reason why she was in the patriotic outfit. Then there was Rebecca from the Russian immigration. There was Nancy, Alexis, Kit, Felicity, Haley, Rylie, and Caroline.
When asked about having "so many" dolls, Love on the Spectrum star Madison revealed that she loved all her dolls' backgrounds.
"I love the time period some of the stories take place in. Felicity's time period is nostalgic for me. Because I grew up in Massachusetts, all that colonial history was right in my backyard."
Further, Love on the Spectrum cast member Madison went through her plush princesses and Care Bears. She mentioned sleeping with them all since she was a kid.
Madison opened up about her struggles with anxiety and how her dolls have always comforted her.
"Dolls went everywhere with me when I was growing up. My dad has tried to make me get rid of them. I've said no every time. They're like my best friends."
Madison confessed that her doll collection still comforts her whenever she feels anxious.
