Hulu reboot of Prison Break turns heads with new casting updates

There is good news for Prison Break fans as the show will welcome four new cast members. Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores, and Myles Bullock are the latest additions to the cast which already consists of Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, and Lukas Gag. The reboot was first announced in 2023 and then got the pilot order in December.

The reboot will be written and executive-produced by Elgin James. It has been confirmed that it will be based in the same universe but will follow a different storyline with new characters. It is not likely to feature Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) the two main characters from the original Prison Break.

While the reboot will feature a new cast and characters, creative heads from the original show are part of the reboot as well. Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring is serving as an executive producer along with Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein, and Dawn Olmstead, all of whom were associated with the original show.

Four new cast members have been announced for the Hulu reboot of Prison Break

After last week’s confirmation of Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, and Lukas Gag joining the cast of the pilot of Prison Break’s Hulu reboot this week Clayton Cardenas, JR Bourne, Georgie Flores, and Myles Bullock have been announced to be joining the cast.

• Clayton Cardenas will be portraying Ghost, described as “a ruthlessly dangerous inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.”
• Georgie Flores will play Andrea, described as “one of the female cadets training to be a Corrections Officer at one of the deadliest prisons in America.”
• Myles Bullock will play Darius ‘Red’ Lewis, who is “an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America.”
• JR Bourne will play Junior, described as “a mentally unstable lone survivor of a decades-old prison break that devastated the town.”

Both Bourne and Cardenas previously worked with Elgin James, the co-creator of Mayans M.C. Since James is writing the pilot of the Hulu reboot, it seems to be coming together of people from Mayans M.C. which is another exciting update for the fans.

Previously announced cast members Emily Browning, Drake Rodger, and Lukas Gag will be playing the roles of Cassidy Collins, Tommy, and Jackson respectively. Cassidy is

“an ex-soldier turned corrections officer who takes a job at one of the deadliest prisons in America.”

Jackson is

“a politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign.”

Tommy is

“an inmate at one of the deadliest prisons in America, incarcerated ten years ago.”

Nothing is yet known about the plot of the Hulu reboot but the character descriptions hint at the intense and thrilling storyline the reboot is going to have just like the original Prison Break. The themes appear similar and since the reboot is based in the same universe, fans can look forward to some great action and character development.
