Get ready for an epic finale of Yellowstone, as the neo-Western drama is coming to an end after five exciting seasons. The season 5 finale, which will also serve as the series finale, will be aired on December 15, 2024.
The show started off with the story of the Duttons, the owners of the largest ranch in the US, who struggled to maintain control over their land. In the final season, the narrative has shifted to the succession war between the Dutton siblings following the death of the patriarch, John Dutton.
The stakes have never been higher in the show as Beth and Jamie are out for blood. While Beth is desperate to avenge her father’s death from her adoptive brother, Jamie is willing to go to any extent to own the ranch. The fans can expect a thrilling and action-packed episode as the season 5 finale concludes the war for the ranch.
How to watch the Yellowstone season 5 finale?
The finale episode of Yellowstone season 5, titled Life Is A Promise, will be aired on Paramount Network on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 8 PM ET/PT. You can also log in to Paramount Network’s official website with your cable credentials to watch the show.
If you have given up on cable and prefer to watch your favorite shows online, Paramount Network can be streamed live on platforms like Sling, fuboTV, DirecTV Stream, and Philo. Sling comes at a price of $40 a month and charges an additional $6 for availing Paramount Network.
Plans for fuboTV start at $79.99 a month after a 30-day free trial. Philo is a relatively cheaper option, costing $28 per month after a 7-day free trial. On the other hand, DirecTV Stream costs $86.99 per month.
Will Yellowstone season 5 stream on Paramount+?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to stream Yellowstone season 5 episode 14, or any other episode of the series, on Paramount+. Though other Paramount Network shows are available on the streamer, the neo-Western drama is an exception.
The streaming rights of the show lie with Peacock. The producers had finalized a streaming deal with Peacock at a time when Paramount+ did not exist. However, Peacock will also not make the finale episode available on its television release date.
The streamer instead releases complete seasons of the show a few months after their cable release. Yellowstone seasons 1 to 4, along with season 5, part 1, are currently streaming on Peacock.
However, all episodes of season 5, part 2 will be made available on the platform a few months later on a not-yet-revealed date. Peacock's subscription plans begin at $7.99 per month.
Will Yellowstone end with the season 5 finale?
The series is likely going to end with the upcoming episode, as Paramount had earlier announced the fifth installment as the final season. However, fans need not be disappointed, as the Dutton family story will continue in a spin-off series.
While there were earlier reports of Paramount willing to make a season 6 of the show, new reports suggest the network has decided to go ahead with a spin-off series focusing on the characters of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. It would serve as a direct continuation to Yellowstone, set in the same time frame.
The makers have finalized the deals with actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who will reprise their roles as Beth and Rip, respectively, from the original show. Several other original cast members are also expected to return in the sequel series, but more details about the casting are awaited.
Hence, the season 5 finale is expected to serve as the series finale for Yellowstone, but the story of the Duttons and their ranch will continue in a sequel series.
