What is The Pitt about?
As mentioned by The Wrap, The Pitt is what happens when Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow’s 24 and ER meet. The new medical drama features ER alum Noah Wyle as the protagonist and takes inspiration from it in terms of the basic theme of the show.
The first season, which consists of 15 episodes, follows Dr. Michael "Robby" Rabinavitch and his team throughout a singular shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Hospital.
With a premise like this, it is undoubted that the show will be nail-biting. However, it also focuses on the lives of the doctors who work relentlessly and how losing a patient affects them while they manage their professional stress and personal lives.
Regarding his role in The Pitt and also reuniting with John Wells and R. Scott Gemmil, Noah Wyle mentioned,
“Extremely gratifying would be the short answer. We created something really special the first time we worked together. I’ll confess, I don’t think I recognized how special it was while we were creating it. I knew that it was popular. I knew that it was successful.”
He further added,
“John Wells is a singular producer, and it starts with him at the top. And Scott is a singular talent as a writer and head writer. Working together again was almost out of a desire to see whether or not that was real the first time. And if it was, then, man, wouldn’t it be great to do it again?”
Besides leading The Pitt, Noah serves as the executive producer, along with Simran Baidwan, Michael Hissrich, R. Scott Gemmill, Erin Jontow, and John Wells.
