School Of Rock icon Mike White has recently gained quite some popularity among fans owing to the black comedy-drama show The White Lotus which he has written as well as directed. The HBO series is an Emmy winner and has been well-received by the audience since its 2021 premiere - not to mention solid RT scores and critic reviews.

However, looking back in time, the 2003 comedy film School Of Rock reminds us even more of Mike White who wrote the story and worked alongside helmer Richard Linklater. Fans, especially rock music lovers, would consider Jack Black's performance in School Of Rock with his co-star White (playing the role of the iconic Ned Schneebly) as one of the best of all times.

Mike also worked on the plot of School Of Rock (especially on Black's request) which was reportedly a big breakthrough for him in Hollywood, thereby gaining him popularity as a filmmaker over the years. Mike's School Of Rock association followed by several projects eventually paved the path for a post-Covid hit like The White Lotus - it took years but it did happen.

Mike White played the role of Ned Schneebly in School Of Rock, the roommate and best bud of Dewey Finn, a passionate enthusiastic musician (played by Jack Black). To much surprise, Mike had also worked on the story of the 2003 comedy classic and garnered quite some attention from fans with his on-screen streak.

After the success of School Of Rock, Mike got associated with Black through their production team-up titled Black & White, working as a producer as well as director - Nacho Libre being one such project. His latter collaboration with Zak Penn, known for his notable contribution to Marvel movies, further exposed him to bigger circles of the film industry.

School Of Rock was a box-office hit that bagged approximately $130 million globally. The 2003 rock music-centric comedy film also scored well in terms of audience reviews as well as critic ratings. Mike played a major role in School Of Rock as an actor as well as screenwriter and he mainly produced the rock music-themed script on his co-star Jack Black's request.

Now, decades after his classic comedy movie, the 2021 HBO hit The White Lotus is trending on streaming charts after bagging multiple Emmy Awards. Moreover, fans are also gearing up for season 3 of The White Lotus with another round of holiday chronicles (this time in Thailand) as the show is set for a Max premiere on February 16, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET.

Recently, Mike's good friend Jennifer Coolidge (who played the popular role of Tanya McQuoid) has also expressed her gratitude towards the 54-year-old artist while accepting her Golden Globe Award for The White Lotus and added that he 'changed' her life. This she said describing Mike's contribution to her success in the industry. Her exact words were:

"Mike White, you have given me hope - you have given me a new beginning. Even if this is the end, you changed my life in a million different ways. "
