Paris Has Fallen premiered on Hulu on December 6, 2024. The Hulu series revolves around the plot where an MI6 officer Zara (Ritu Arya) and a protection officer team Vincent (Tewfik Jallab) up after a terrorist attack on a high-profile event in Paris. This 8-episode TV series is a spinoff of the Olympus Has Fallen Universe.

Directed by Oded Ruskin and Hans Herbots, Paris Has Fallen has had steady ratings and made many fans wonder whether this is a part of the Gerard Butler saga.

Olympus Has Fallen saga has three films in total. The first film Olympus Has Fallen, is a political action thriller released in 2013. The cast members of the movie included Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, and Robert Forster. The plot was based on a terrorist attack on the White House and Mike Banning (a disgraced Secret Service played by Gerard Butler) rescues the President.

With the success of the first film, two sequels titled London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen were also released in 2016 and 2019 respectively. The success of the film franchise has therefore opened up doors for a newer spin-off series.

Even though Gerard Butler was only a co-producer of the Hulu series. Let's have a look at how the spin-off fits in the Olympus Has Fallen saga.

The action-packed Hulu series is much alike its parent movies. Paris is Fallen looks like a stretched Olympus Has Fallen. As the series goes on exploring the mission of an MI6 officer and a protection officer team, it feels like the same old essence of the Olympus Has Fallen saga.

The series begins in a typical Has Fallen style where a group of terrorists hijacked a party in the British Embassy in Paris. The attack was headed by Jacob Pearce (Sean Harris), a former French Foreign Legionnaire who was about to expose a high-level conspiracy. However, he survived the assassination attempt by the corrupt politicians who wanted him dead.

In the next scene, he demands to meet Philippe Bardin, the French Defense Minister. However, in a true Olympus Has Fallen style, Bardin is taken away by the head of security and an undercover MI6 agent. However, Pearce runs away from the scene to avoid getting caught. The plot then takes us on a wild chase of the culprit.

The spin-off series has deeply navigated through the character's motivation and background hence providing a wider perspective than the Olympus Has Fallen saga

Paris Has Fallen has created a different universe for itself while still staying true to the Has Fallen roots. Even though a second season has not been officially announced, the finale suggests there might be some more to the series.

The last episode shows how the show's protagonists Vincent and Zara take down the villain Pearce thus saving Paris. It also showed Fresh President )Emmanuelle Bercot ) confessing to her part in killing Pearce's family. The finale also hinted that the villain DCX capital would be moving to Africa.

Even though we might not see Butler any time soon in the series, we might get to witness Eckhart as President Asher. We might get to see DCX as the recurring antagonist of the series, where they finance terrorism in various countries.
