After running for 14 seasons, CBS's police procedural Blue Bloods bid farewell to fans in a satisfying finale. The long-running drama ended with the Reagan family joining for their iconic family dinner, all happy (and alive).

While fans made many petitions to save their favorite show, but as all good things must come to an end, the show also ended with Season 14.

Every character got their perfect ending in the series finale with Frank restoring order in the city after extracting a difficult confession from a prisoner.

The episode ends with the Reagan Family sitting for dinner with Frank noting,

"looking around this table, we have a lot to be thankful for, and I can't be any more proud or grateful."

This was a perfect conclusion for a family that has stood by each other in every tragedy and found good within the comfort of each other while reeling with loss (which was a good amount throughout the 14 seasons).

Frank extracts important information from a prisoner in Blue Bloods finale

After the city is in havoc from the gang war, which is targeting cops, judges, and police officials, Mayor Chase gives all control to Frank to catch the person responsible and do anything to stop this madness.

Frank confronts a prisoner-for-life to give up the location of his son, who is also responsible for the Mayor's assassin. While it was a hard confession, it mimics Frank's confrontation with Sonny Malevsky for his son Joe's death in Season 1.

Frank Reagen got his perfect ending as he used the pain of his dead son to get out of a confrontation with a criminal's father and bring order back into the city.

Every character got their perfect ending in the Blue Bloods finale

While the NYPD is at the center of this police procedural, the Reagan family dynamics is also an important part of the show, and the fans were excited to see how well each member of the Reagan family will get their perfect ending.

While Badillo's funeral was a tear-jerking moment in the episode, every character got their perfect ending in Blue Bloods. While Erin and Jack decide to get married secretly, Danny finally gets a second chance with Officer Beaz.

Danny has been lonely since Linda's death in Season 8, and seeing him have a possible romance with Beaz was a good ending for his character.

It was celebration time for the Reagan family as Jamie and Eddie announced that they were having a baby. Blue Bloods' finale brought good news for the family and established that the family legacy would continue.

Blue Bloods finale has room for a future reunion

While fans were bittersweet about the ending, they were fearful about the fates of each character. Since it was the series finale, it was expected that the show might kill some off the characters. Thankfully, nobody died or even retired, which makes us hopeful that a reunion movie could be expected.

With Jamie and Eddie's baby, Danny's romance with Beaz, and Joe's acceptance of the Reagan Family, the show addressed major loose ends while keeping the possibility of a reunion open, which would be like a treat for the fans.

The finale ends with the iconic Regan family dinner which reinstates that the police procedural had family values at the centre of it, after all.
