Since the book and the 2003 movie are highly popular, it was obvious that social media was flooded with people reacting to this reboot confirmation, both positive and negative.

While some people expressed happiness over one of their favorite childhood books getting a reboot, some were displeased as they think the 2003 movie is perfect and Disney should not ruin it with a reboot.

However, here are some divided reactions from various X users:

''OK!! RIGHT IN THE NOSTALGIA'', @H20KT36

It seems like this X user is happy with the reboot confirmation as this would give them a chance to revisit one of Disney's nostalgic movies, reminiscent of earlier times.

''Really curious to see how they'll expand on the Madame Zeroni story with modern storytelling - the original barely scratched the surface of that family's legacy.'' @pattherogue

Many users have reacted positively to this news as a series would do more justice to the source material, like the Zeroni story. While the movie was a hit, it could not include the source material completely because of its duration.

''Nooooo!! This is a classic. Let’s leave it be'' @clinkie44

After many positive reactions, some users like this think that a reboot is a bad idea and that Disney+ will ruin this classic book with a modern reboot.

''why does everything have to be remade!'' @verseweave

It looks like this user appreciates new stories, and the TV series reboot did not sit right with them. Some fans seem displeased over Disney trying to remake everything lately.

While the reactions to this reboot are mixed, only time will tell how it will sit with the audience.
