High Potential Season 1 Episode 9 premiered on January 14, 2025, on ABC at 9 PM ET. The fresh episode called The RAMs shows the team investigating the case of Marvin Price, a murdered baseball star.
While the LAPD is on a mission to find the murderer, Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and Captain Soto (Judy Reyes) meet Gio (Domenick Lombardozzi), a potential lead who has information about Roman's (Morgan's ex-boyfriend) disappearance.

Morgan and Gio solve the case of the murdered baseballer Marvin Price: High Potential Season 1 Episode 9
The episode revolves around the murder of the baseball star Marvin Price. Oz (Deniz Akdeniz) and Daphne (Javicia Leslie) found an important witness, a can collector (Mike Bridenstine) who confirmed Price was hit by the car multiple times.
With her exceptional abilities, Morgan was quick to find out the details of the car through pieces of evidence including the noise of a loud engine, the width of tire marks, and blue stains on Marvin's watch indicating that it was a blue Jensen Inceptor.
Keradac (Daniel Sunjata) was quick to find out that the car was parked in the garage of an apartment building.
They questioned Marvin Price's house manager, Tiana (Melanie Liburd) who was quite close to him he made her the sole beneficiary. Even though Marvin Price did not share a cordial relationship with his son Dexter, he was claimed innocent, as his father had a change of heart but was murdered.
The owner of the blue Jensen was found out by Daphne who figured out it belonged to a man named Elkos. However, Elkos informed them that his car was stolen a week back and he reported it. Morgan examined the security footage of Elko's garage only to find out it was Oliver Debosis (Aren Farrington) who stole it.
Morgan found out that Tiana was in a relationship with Debosis and that they had hatched a plan together to kill Marvin as he had caught them together. Soon Debosis was arrested and Tiana gave up her claim to Marvin's estate, which that transferred to his son Dexter.
Surprisingly, the word tiddlywinks also becomes an important clue for the case. During Marvin's last phone call with Dexter, he mentioned the word tiddlywinks. Morgan found out that this phrase was often used by Marvin referring to 'waste of space'. Morgan took no time to connect the dots as Tiana mentioned that Marvin used to refer to Debosis as a 'waste of space'.
Morgan ghosts Tom after their dinner date: High Potential Season 1 Episode 9
In the previous episode of High Potential, we witnessed Morgan and Tom on a cute dinner date. Even during the dinner date, Morgan leaves abruptly to meet Selena (Judy Reyes) who has an update on Roman. In Season 1, Episode 9 of High Potential, Tom makes an appearance where he tells Morgan that he will be moving to San Diego.
Before that, juggling between professional and personal life, Morgan missed multiple calls from Tom. This led Tom to believe that Morgan was not interested in him anymore. Morgan tried to make him understand and reassure him that she was too busy with work.
Morgan walked away from the scene while Tom said 'San Diego isn't that far' still hoping for a reconciliation. However, it would be difficult to see them together in future episodes as Tom will be moving to San Diego for his work and nursing course. Moreover, it would be interesting to see the chemistry of the professional buddies Morgan and Karadec in the upcoming episodes. The channel has already teased with cute moments of the duo in their feeds.
Soto and Morgan meet Gio, a potential lead in Roman's disappearance case: High Potential Season 1 Episode 9
Soto and Morgan get hold of a potential lead that could solve the mystery behind Roman's disappearance. Gio, the potential lead wasn't ready to open up about Roman. He wanted something in return before he would spill the beans.
Gio wanted his nephew who was serving jail time to be given rehab instead. Soto agreed and asked Karadec for help. Karadec pulled some strings to help Gio's nephew. However, Karadec was quite concerned about Morgan's safety stating Gio is a dangerous man.

Even though initially Gio did not give much information. But as soon as he said that he knew about RAMs an abbreviation of Roman, Ava (their daughter), and Morgan, she knew that he was a useful lead.
